Just got RRODed!!!! Why, oh Lord, have you crippled me!!! I'm fairly confident that when ever I get excited for an upcoming game, like REALLY excited, I get RROD (last one was for .Skate).

The best part is, Microsoft is telling me that my warranty has expired yet I'm fairly confident that they extended everyones' by three years. WTF, MICROSOFT?!?!?!

This is nearly as bad as when I found out Happy Days was canceled.... 4 days ago!!! :P

But seriously... this blows; hardcore.

Get a PS3. That's what I did when this happened to me. It's unacceptable.

Not trying to be a Fan Boy here, i am past that.
Go for a PS3, the Slim is releasing now in september.
We all know that the PS3 still has some things lacking, like party chat and so on, but the ROD was something that kept me from buying a XBox360.
Anyway we all know that graphics are bout the same on both platforms, so i would go with the console which
1; runs (hopefully) stable without breaking down (I still have the first generation PS3 from launch-never had any problems)

2; offers games that i prefer playing (matter of your personal taste, the PS3 offers more for me personally in the future)

I just got RROD 2, 3 red lights flashing.

Mine died last month. I filled out the online repair sheet and I got 2 emails, one poorly machine translated saying "you will recive a pre-paid DHL box at your door in the next few days and call DHL when its ready for pickup", the english one said print out this and this (barcodes and stuff) and get your sorry behind to a UPS pickup station and make sure the xbox is packaged but do not use the orginal packing it came in from the store. And just to be more annoying Im getting reminders once a week that Im now a silver member and I should pay for gold membership which I cant use. Way to go microsoft :mad:

Good Lord... I definitely can relate. I'm on my 4TH Xbox. I also have had it quit out on me during some great releases. The release of COD I had red rings, then during Fallout's release. It sucks so bad. I would jump over to PS3 but I have invested too much money into accessories and games that I just can't justify it. Nor can I ditch all my gaming buddies.

They have streamlined the process though, I can usually get another XBox within a week from the time I red ring.

Another reason I refuse to jump to PS3 is PSN. It just can't compete with Xbox Live.

Yup, i too am on my 4th xbox.

Worst things is - you don't get YOUR console back. You get some other poor suckers who RRoD'd. So it's a lottery as far as which brand DVD drive you end up with (some are noiser than others, i'm not sure which though).

Thats one of the reasons I own a PS3 instead of an Xbox, is the free PSN. For me anyway. I don't play all day or even everyday. I just couldn't justify paying to play online games that I could be playing for free on either the ps3 or the PC.

I have to many 360 games too, and i just preorder COD MW2, 2 copy's of BOP one for my self and another for a gift. I going for the xbox 360 elite september 1, but i want a PS3 to. I don't know what to do. seems like moor will be playing PS3
