Simulation Mode + Multiplayer = Cockpit & virtual cockpit?

When we are playing in multiplayer and elect for a Simulation match, will we be be able to switch from the cockpit view to the virtual cockpit view like we can in the single player demo?

If so then, I am going to just chock up the multiplayer as being the suck and not even bother. I HATE the virtual cockpit and refuse to use it cause it annoys me and looses so much immersion, so if I am in a simulation dogfight match online and my competition can use the virtual cockpit view and get a 60% view advantage over me than the fun and fairness of the multiplayer dogfighting is totally lost.

Soooo any word on this.... I know there are no german cockpits (which is total crap, at least put the 109 and the other really popular fighter cockpit in their), so will we be able to filter the match to only allow cockpit planes and only allow cockpit views?

They planning to add those via DLC.

Virtual would def be an advantage, if you could pick. Should be one, or the other.

I asked Anton a few days ago if one of the options in online play would be to fix the view that everyone will use and I got a one word answer "yep". Pretty clear! Having asked the question myself I could not agree more with your concerns but it looks like they've addressed this particular one.

Ok this is excellent news!

The bad news is that with the cockpit view locked in there are only 12 planes, all of them Allied, to choose from.

(because if it was a mix of cockpit + virtual, guys would go ballistic i guess)

Its pretty bad news.

12 planes are going to get boring pretty quickly. The ones I know about are the Spitfire, Hurricane, I-16, Il10, and P47, and the P51 apparently shares the P47s cockpit, so that will be there. I just hope the three marks of Spitfire aren't being counted as three of the 12 planes. Might be a Yak-3 or one or two of the other Russian fighters for the two Russian campaigns, but I haven't seen these yet. I think at least one of the 12 is a heavy bomber, and they don't have cockpits, so the list is down to 11. If the planes are locked to their respective sides then the only mode which will work is Dogfight.

Because of this, I will probably play in Sim matches that allow all aircraft, and just use something with a cockpit myself.

Amen to that, but the Bf109 and Fw190 cockpits can't get here soon enough.
