Spells

This question might as well be posted in KB TL, but here we are

Just curious, what spells you gents think are uber powerful and which ones completely useless? Also what combo are you overusing?

Fear is awesome, not against the dead obviously, on the side note they should be afraid of something, maybe holy water?

For combo, I love hypnosis and sacrifice, again not for dead.

Just some quick suggestions:
powerful: stoneskin, mana spring, gift, phantom, timeless (if working), poison cloud, blizzard (seriously, an opening of maxed lord of the north + poison cloud + blizzard is devastating, at least up to Demonis - can't speak for the rest yet)

Yes, I read that when I started playing previous installments, that was very helpful, well still is, that guide made me try no loss on impossible.

But I was hoping there might be some new discoveries and/or combos out there.

Hypnosis and Sacrifice still works?

I am doing a warrior so ... I don't know the spells yet. Can't wait to try it out as a Soothsayer!

Ancient Phoenix / Dragon of Chaos / Black Dragon ftw! :)

ice prison is one of the best spells there is! the enemy ai is too stupid to attack it's way out! so it's basically like another blind type spell option!

I got this early and use it every fight on the strongest low level enemy stack...well I did... until I got stoneskin+target+reddragon+scale set=near immunity to physical damage from the opposing army

Does Timeback exist in this game? I've not found it yet, but that spell is freaking GOD.

Magic Shackles has very specific and important uses. As does trap and slow (especially early game).

Target is very strong, as is Greasy Mist.

I’ve got the timeback just before the last battles, the 2 spells I know of, that I didn’t get were pigmy and that dragon something

It does. Got it semi-early.

I'm a Viking/Warrior, so trap isn't that useful to me right now.

Target is good, but I never really used it, even in Armored Princess.

Greasy Mist / Oil Mist, ah I abused this a LOT since I used to run Level 5s and the Super Summon Mage team.

They're not being stupid, exactly. The description for ice prison implies the targeted unit can break its own shell by attacking it. That isn't true. I tried using Ice Prison as a pseudo-Glot's Armor and the unit lost its turn.
