AI not sticking to objectives

AI problems that still abound that could be improved ( we hope):

1. AI that escort should not leave escort duties to go after enemy other than enemy attacking their escorted planes. Case in point, just yesterday I was in a flight of AI assigned to escort IL2s. Upon an enemy flight if JU-88s flying above and in opposite direction, they all left their duty to escort IL2s to follow the 88s. I was left to defend the IL2s by myself. I found it quite difficult when eight Bf-109s showed up to try to shoot up myself and IL2s. I could only run away. But two 109s pursued. Luckily I ended up killing them both but still this was unacceptable.

2. AI still shoulder shoot, but I think it would be hard to program them to stop this behavior.

3. Only AI in your flight will come to help you if you call for assistance. Other flights ignore you as if they are tuned to a different frequency. Can this be changed so you can call any AI to help you?

Well, actually, I think not allowing them to shoot if there's a friendly in between of them and their target might be enough.
