This one is the startup of a sequence which shall drive you from the very basis to advanced and complex missions. Some videos have youtube comments. Available videos : * Understanding the Hurricane * Smooth, accurate, 3 points landing * How to brake airspeed * Complexe Engine Management and aircraft systems * Fuel mixture, fuel consumption * Aerodynamics, stall, spin, slip Understanding the Hurricane Hurricane basis Smooth, accurate, 3 points landing Three point landing How to brake airspeed Cross rudder ailerons Basis of CEM & Aircraft systems CEM & Systems Mixture management Air / fuel mixture management Aerodynamics, high speed stall, slip and spin Aircraft aerodynamics |
Thanks for the look: I learned something! (The manual gear extension).
Wasn't the gear extension always manual on the Spit in real life, btw? I remember reading about pilots that were porpoising during take-off because the held the stick with one hand and turned the u/c wheel with the other... |
Yes I think that was on early models. Both Spit / Hurri had hydraulic gear systems which works with the engine later on.

I love informational videos like this dealing with CEM. I learn something new every time!
|
Great stuff - we need more stuff like this to drag new players into this game!

Hi
I'm pleased you find it interesting. Next time I'll record about - 3 point landing - Emergency landing - Mixture control - Low speed stall, high speed, spin It may be pretty simple & short. Yet if you've anything be dealt with let me know. With a thought for Soren, I'll try to make it much more artistic this time ;) See you. |

Just a little suggestion, in real life (although you can do it in game) the Hurricane Mk.I could not start it's engine on the main fuel tank. It had to be switched to the reserve (or gravity) tank as the fuel pumps did not run until the engine had started.

Really well done!!
I love the way you've done that video with the ability to hover over boxes etc. Also a voice over is always useful. I shall bookmark this one for one of my rare adventures in a hurricane |
I'll cover all aircrafts. I'm learing a lot of stuff too doing so :-)
