3D Modeling Program

Hello everybody .

I'm currently learning how to Skin units , but Skinning is useless without Models , even if I can re-skin the existant units , I would like to know which 3D modeling program should I use to model new units ? So I could Skin AND Model .

If you can afford it, 3DS Max v9 is your best choice since you then can use official tools to export etc.

Another option is the much cheaper Milkshape 3D (costs 30 US today) but it is much more difficult to export vehicles with it, since there is no official tools to help you, ie. you are on your own.

I do not use these tools myself, since I don´t own 3ds max so I cant say anything how to use it, or how they perform. Two different versions of the tools also exist, one for earlier versions of Max and one for later versions (up to version 9 if I dont remember it incorrectly).

Hope this helps,

~Zeke.
