Been a while, decided to drop by and see how are things at IL-2 land :)

How`s Cliffs of Dover? Should i get my trusty FFB2 outta the box? :)

It's still not the overall experience we remember from the days when Hyperlobby was full every night of the week. Multiplayer is pretty sparse, and will be till Jiri gets HL support for CoD. And before the Steam fanboys start a hate campaign, I know a lot of guys that will not fly this sim till Hyperlobby support is available for it. And that is beyond all the current issues of under-development.

Ivan, I have the thing, and so much of it is really, really, jaw droppingly good.
The aircraft models, cockpits, DMs, engine management, and overall feeling of flight are so much better than the old sim. In fact it's hard to play 1946 anymore as it just seems like a toy now. It's almost totally changed my flying style. However, the down side is that I don't fly much anymore because of the rest of the new sim really needs to be finished, too many things still need to be sorted out yet.

I wish Oleg would come back and give this project some needed direction and leadership.

Depends on your rig. If you have a quad core and decent VGA you might enjoy the game but it's still in a beta state in terms of gameplay. You'll also have to be realistic in your expectations of the settings you can use, plenty seem to think that COD should run maxed out on todays tech which is a little unrealistic.

CoD suffered a premature birth although the life-signs seem stable. If you do take the plunge you'll likely find yourself frustrated at some things and impressed by others.....it's a mixed bag at the moment.

As mentioned it needs a hefty PC to run healthily and at this stage i'd hold off putting any money down for the game or hardware until CoD is working properly. This may take a few patches yet.

Good to see you gents! That`s what i figured.. my hardware probably outdated by now :) I don`t even know what does it take to build a decent rig nowdays, so out of it :D Definitely need new mobo, CPU, RAM and GC... We shall see, maybe in the fall i`ll get back into gaming. Was taking a break from it since late 2009 :)

I have no complaints at all.

If your system is not yet up to it, it will be so in time. You don't HAVE to buy it yet.

Without any doubt, it's the future of flight sims. Oleg has left the hangar, but his devotion, skill and style are all over it.

il2 1946 has given birth to a worthy successor. That's what Pedigrees do.

And I can't stop taking screenies!!! Aaaaaaaargh....I need help!!

Welcome back, it has been a loooong time!
Game detail is amazing :) , complexity as well :(

Performance issues are there. Probably the after.next generation of GPUs will be able to handle this game.

SLI (and probably Crossfire) not there where they are supposed to be.

As far as hardware goes, the SWFFB2 will do a good job but you need to add a good throttle and a couple of "sliders" two (Saitek Throttle Quadrants).

Intel i7 equivalent + Win7 64bit a must
