In memory of fallen IL2 pilots....
 

I am opening this thread with the death of an IL2 pilot I have flown with for years, 352FG_HO_D. Cancer got him a week or so ago.

He loved sinking ships with is Corsair, he was always enthusiastic in helping anyone sort out problems with setting up IL2, and he was never a poor sport:

If anyone else knows of an old IL2 pilot who has passed or has been disabled by age or injury so that they can no longer fly put it up here.

I don't know of anybody recently but back in the day there was a great guy at mission4today called Joppe who past away due to that desease.
There was also an admin, great guy too, at the skiesoffire server called fs_FoxBat.

In other news maybe some of you remember Uncle_Ivan from Hypelobby in the early 2000s. He and his server both ran under that call sign. I got a note via YouTube from his son:

"he had a stroke and is no longer able, hence why he shut down his server. That's actually what got me looking at those old forums; I was feeling nostalgic about flying with him and my brothers, and was searching for old screenshots. Unfortunately I didn't find any.

Anyway, it's good to know that folks enjoyed his server."

I flew on Uncle_Ivan's server fairly often way back then and he was good with that Yak for sure, and I did enjoy having he and his server around on Hyperlobby for sure..!

Those call-signs are familiar. If I ever run across them in the many hundreds of old tracks I have saved I will try to put up a video or screen-shot of them in action.

Joppe and FoxBat are gone?
