OT: Metal Tempest

Thought I would share this.

I have seen a metal Spit, Corsair and Mustang but this is the first Tempest.

Looks Awesome. Sounds like they actually flew them unpainted to chase V1's.

He did cheat, it plastic shrouded in metal ;). Wish I had the patience to do something like that.

What would you make? I would have to say a long nosed killer the FW190 D-9

That or a late Bf109, or a -30`s racer, that would be cool in 1:12 scale. :)

That model could serve as an icon for Clod: Rivet perfect but unusable.

fast plane but a death trap for rookie pilots

Really, really nice model.

Must have transferred to 501 as was first assigned to 56 in June 1944 as US- E.

501 received its first Tempests on July 18 1944 and flew it first mission on Aug 2 1944.
