Why can`t I choose the resolution I want?
I recently upgraded to Windows 7 64bit, and I'm facing this problem: The only available resolution for full screen is 1920x1080. This is quite demanding for my aging GPU, so I would like to run it at lower resolutions which worked great on XP. Setting the resolution in the conf.ini does not help, and running the game in windowed mode crashes every time.

Change the resolution of your Desktop to 640x (I know I am mean...)
Run the game and look what the available resolution offered will be. |
Asked the same question on a few forums, still haven't got an answer.
I have a Samsung SyncMaster 24" 1920x1200 and i only get 1920x1200 and 1680x1050 as full screen resolutions (1440x900, 1280x800 and 960x800 are also 16:10 format and should be available imho). If i unselect full screen i get 640x480, 800x600 or 1024x768 as resolutions but these windows are to small for the 24" screen. I haven't had a crash yet. |
Setting the desktop resolution to 1280x720 made me able to play the game at 1280 too! So that definitely solves the problem. Thanks!
And wow, I`m getting really smooth gameplay even with shadows enabled on my ATI 4760. Cant´t wait to get a new GPU now. :) |

But... i also get awfull shimmering, even with AA set to 8x ingame. And about smooth gameplay...i would like to see that. What else have you turned up besides shadows? |
Let me see if I remember, I´m not at home now... I only have the model detail to medium, visual fx to high, damage decals to to medium, and shadows on. Everything else off/lowest setting. Ground looks like crap, but channel flying is nice!
