Rendobj.dll flagged

Anyone else getting an issue with tihs being blocked at run because of a win32/heur virus?

I've deleted the file and then revarified the game cache but even the newly downloaded one is flagged as a virus by AVG.

I see on google search there was a thread on this on 1c but it has been removed, any resolution? since the game cannot currently be run with this file flagged as a virus.

Ever hear of false positives?

Ignore.

Add to exceptions. ;)

JG53_Valantine 03-30-2011 11:38 PM

Yep, of course however it still comes up as AVG has no way of adding to exceptions as far as I am aware

Disable AVG?

I'm no expert but I'm pretty sure that its a false positive.

That requires disabling AVG whilst playing, sorry but in this day and age I;m not going to have my computer connected to the net without the anti virus.
I'll have to see if there is a way to get it into exceptions for AVG properly
Cheers though

Whatever.

I always find it amusing when folks actually believe that a wall filled with virus stands outside their doorstep waiting to flow in as soon as you turn your AV off.

1. Its not the case
2. The paranoia is high as always.
3. Get a better AV than AVG

When you run servers and your IP address is known by many people I'd rather not take the risk. Also, I'd rather run AVG than something like Norton cheers.

Anyhow, to help those who experience this issue you have to add the file to BOTH the normal exceptions list and also to the advanced list for resident shield. That way you can keep your AVG on and not have any issues in getting it to boot.
Nice and simple.
