Im not buying it, me thinks the marketing people lied,

I have done EVERY mission in arcade and still have every plane Pedro has who has done it on simulator.


I count 33!

so either they LIED, or there is some ridiculously strange criteria for unlock.

BUT YET! I still have not unlocked the unlocked all planes achievement, so there begs the question, do you have to do things with limited fuel and ammo? on relaistic. Where the hell are the Dev team?

someon on here said they unlocked armaments from playing online.... maybe some planes are only unlocked via online play?

not really sure... btw check your recruitment thread... while I welcome joinging eagle squad... I hate odd numbers!

To unlock all planes it is not enough to accomplish all missions.
For example, some planes are unlocked in MP.

This is bad... not even its creator knows how the plane unlock works. I kid but seriously, some offical clarification would be nice as theres full confusion about this.

Of course he knows, because he doesent explain in detail doesent mean he doesent know.

I would have thought that the release of a game would usually mean working a weekend, I know if I'd poured years of effort into something, id want to be monitoring its release days like a hawk, there's always issues and peple would want information.

Well I guess all there's left to do is play a lot online! Maybe you get a plane for winning a certain number of match types or something?

I am not the game creator. Game is result of work of fifty people. I, myself, am not even from production team.
I know by heart some of unlocks, but definetly not all of them.

Guys, it is 3 days after release date, and 2 of them are weekend days.
Monday or Tuesday we'll announce some information on title update and unlocks - after release I am not so bound to coordinate all information with publisher, so I can provide some information on my own.

yeah complete one of the battle of britain single missions i think its some thing like "in the crosshairs"

Yeah ive completed every mission and havent unlocked all the planes yet. I thought there were different paint schemes to unlock as well as armaments.

Not everyone can play online to be able to unlock things.

I just unlocked the BF-109 K-4 in online mode. I was using the bf109 G-6 and around roughly 100+ kills(could be wrong).

Yes, they should state this clearly on the packaging. "YOU CANNOT GET THE REALLY GOOD STUFF IF YOU NO HAZ INTERWEBZ"

not a problem for me but if i Didn't have XBL i would be lookin for blood! srs!

IS the K the only 109 with the BIG nose cannon (mk108) that makes stuff go BOOM, or do any of the other 109's have it as a loadout option?

The 'G-6' also has some very nice cannon.

You are really one of those people, aren't you. Those people who like to complain...

If you have either a ps3 or a 360 and it's not connected to the internet you are missing out on a lot of things. Demo's, patches, dlc, etc. The only people i can image that are without a connection are those still living with their parents. In that case, they should just shut up. Mommy and daddy are still paying the rent and make sure you get fed 3 times a day.

I'm sure i won't unlock every plane in the game. And even if that includes one of my favorite ww2 planes i'm not going to cry murder here.

Yes, the K-4 comes standard with a MK-108 nose cannon. But only has 20mm wingtip guns.

The G-6 has 30mm wingtip mk108's, not really sure if it's a 20mm nose cannon or an Mk-108 30mm nose cannon, though.

Almost, if not ALL single player games with a multiplayer option come with achievements on the internet these days.


Just to name a few: GTA4, GRAW1&2, Halo 3, Ace combat 6, etc etc.

I'm very happy with the amount of aircraft in this game.and if they decide to release some more via DLC.it'll be just a bonus..

ok yes but not listed features, you don't need to go online in gta4 to unlock every car! or unlock every gun in cod. i'm not talking about gamerpoints here, i'm talking about nice big b-17's etc.

it's been confirmed the b-17 is in the game off the shelf, no DLC required. it's in the live demo vid (the guy is showing the hanger with a "flying fortress" in it), sticky on this forum.

for the record some of us can't use our consoles to connect to the internet. As a matter of fact I have to use an air card for my laptop im using to post this reply

Im discouraged that if you pre-order here you get this if you pre-order there you get a b-17..... I thought the P47 was a DLC? Or was it one of the planes you could get in Europe for free? I'm just glad I've got my soviet planes!!

B-17 is not a preorder gift... its the Ta-135 (or summit like that) and the 'jug'

no lancaster im afriad, but everyone has been hinting that the B17 is unlocked through online play (bombing matches i suppose) its not a fact, its a theory.

Some of us own Xbox 360s and so have to pay a hefty yearly sum to Micro$oft for a Gold account to play in online matches. Some of us would rather put that money towards buying more games like this one, and are then annoyed to find out we can't get the full experience unless we play online. PS3 owners (and I imagine you are one) get free online play and so do not suffer from this problem.

Well, give us a little more feedback maybe? Enjoy your Sunday, the rest of us are all shaking our heads wondering how to unlock everything.

It's a great game, no question about that. It does have its bugs, like the way everybody crashes to avoid being killed and receives no penalty, but I have at least a little confidence that they will resolve the issues soon. The devs seem to be active in the community trying to find out what we like and don't like. For all of us that got in on the Gamestop gold rush it feels like we're part of a beta test before the rest of the world plays. Enjoy it while it lasts, the armies of high-pitched 12 year old voices complaining about how this and that sucks is marching towards us in 2 days. But seriously, they do need to give us a little more concise answers about things, and fix the damned crash system so that people will stop exploiting it, before that 1 thing kills your game online. Viva la revolution and shit.

It's not deliberate all the time. If the control surfaces are shot away or the engine stops, the plane is going to crash.

You can't actually blame people for bailing out of an aircraft that is handling very poorly because of the damage done to it. Why would anyone want to fly round in a aircraft that is handling like a brick waiting for someone to blow them up, it's just not human nature to do that. 'hello, I'm a sitting duck, please finish me off', people are not like that, they want to bail and get a new aircraft.

I do think bailing out and crashing should mean the person that shot up the aircraft being awarded a kill. A player death should mean another player gets a kill.

Are there any no respawn modes? I loved Ghost Recon with no respawn and always assumed this would be how BoP would play online (in Realistic or Sim modes).

No the game is not like GR, you can't go all tactical and camp in a bush somewhere, it's a dogfight, you fly at the enemy firing as you pass, break and start a turning fight.

Also you leave the server after every game, you can't sit in spectator mode waiting for the next round. It does not work like that.

That's true. Don't get in a turning fight with any Soviet planes, you'll be taking a little trip towards the ground, in a burning plane if you do. ;)

I've always wondered, what it would be like to try out a Yak-3 against a Zero, and actually tried it on 1946!! Well happily I shot him down, but not before getting a whole lot of holes in my plane :D It was interesting to try.

Try that with the N1K2 Shiden or Ki-84:-P I like flying the Ki-27 vs the I-153 and I-16 too, and there is a guy called Deutschmark who is making an mod pack with some of the other planes used by the Chinese airforce such as the Curtiss P-6 Hawk. There is also a P-26 Peashooter mod out there, which is good fun.

I'm going to have to get my hands on that P-26 Peashooter mod. I've heard one of them fly and start for real. Great little plane, surprisingly very maneuverable. (Since it does have wire bracing connected to the wings and fuselage.) And that P-6 Hawk seems interesting as well. I LOVE 30s fighters, their just so strange in design etc. And I'll try that little scenario with the Shinden and other Japanese planes :D

The P-26 mod is over at All Aircraft Arcade, its a bit of a work in progress (uses Ki-27 flight model and a borrowed cockpit) so I'm mainly using it as an enemy, but its an interesting little plane. Its listed under Il2 MODS Download New Aircraft.

Gotta love the guys who think an I-16 is the ticket to an easy win. I like to stay just out of their range and wait for them to toast the engine, then move in with a D9 to finish them off. Maybe it's not the most sporting thing to do, but I didn't choose the I-16 for them.

I never or very rarely use WEP on Realistic while flying the I-16. But I've got a fare amount of kills on my friend. :cool:
