Which Operating System is Best for BOP?
...and, ONLY BOP, or other Flight Sims yet to come?
PS3 or xBox 360? LJB:cool: |

The graphics on the PS3 are crisper than 360... But there is a lot of screen tearing that the 360 doesn't experience. There are flight stick issues with the PS3 version... There are fewer problems with the 360 flight sticks. I would say overall 360... But I am a bit biased since that is the only console I own. |

imho 360, its cheaper, the controller is better, and the joysticks are better, no real diference in picture. I have a 360 and my brother has a PS3 so i've seen both. PS3 is more stable and doesnt over-heat, cus i dont care what MS say they HAVENT fixed it, my brother's elite went up the swanny and that was brand new.

id have to go with the 360.
Fo gameplay etc they both run pretty much the same. Both are HD so the pic will look great. What wins it for the 360 though in my opinion is the multiplayer..... comunication on xbox live seems to be more fluent than on the ps3. More people on live talk. Does the ps3 not come with a headset? or does it cost a pretty penny to purchase? |
Soooo....
I'm leaning towards an xBox 360 and a T-Flite Hotas Stick. Proper Rudder (analog) is more important to me than POV. I think I can live with 4 position POV. Of course, if they correct that, I'll have it all... I'm an old PC based Flight sim player, from the olden days. This will be my first console. LJB:cool: |
I have both, and will be getting BoP for both 360 and PS3. And all this talk of screen tearing on the PS3, I don't doubt it happens. But so far, I have not experienced it once. Maybe it's my TV, but I've just got a small little 23" and nothing on my PS3 has had screen tearing.

Several other ps3 people have had the same issue. |
I just have a little 23" or so, and it's nothing special. But it does the job :D I'll be sure to tell you if there's any tearing in my screen when I get the full version. But the demo has given me no problems.

Does the same thing in the final game... sorry! |

That would be bogus if it is just the ps3 version that is doing this. Like SovietAce says he has no problems and several other people as well. It looks like it is a mixed bag. |

But I know somebody working in a videogame shop that allowed me to get it yesterday just after their delivery :-P And the screen tearing is in the game everyone has it! |
Soooo....
For a Newbie like Myself, who has a 50" Pioneer Elite and a Yamaha & KEF based Surround System, with a KEF Sub, it's an xBox 360 and a Saitek AV8r-03 Stick. No Tearing, and, that's the only stick option. Hope the Rudder works good. Right? LJB:cool: |

Oh, the Av8r-03 is for another application?
So, I get the -02. Got it. Thanks; LJB:cool: |

yeah, i have screentearing as well, especially in cockpit view...I'm using a samsung hd ready that will go to 1080i. Some say it might have something to do with having a flightstick plugged in,but i have played with both a stick and a regular pad..it's still there.
While unfortunate,it (the screentear) doesn't affect my enjoyment of the game in the slightest.. Normally i nitpick about such things, but in this case it's forgiven. |
If you have both consoles I'd opt for the 360.
The performance differences are negligible but I guess it's subjective as to how much screen tear you can take. In multiplayer I personally perfer the quiet of PSN as opposed to the constant 12yr old "urban" anger on Live. I'm guessing a game like this won't attract that mentality but you never know. |
