DLC Ideas
Now there has been a lot of talk about German Cockpits, and people asking why no German Cockpits? Well, for those who don't already know, Anton has stated that a DLC will be coming out, with added German Cockpits. But this thread is not meant to be about that. So just toss that little idea aside while thinking: "What kind of DLC would I like to see for BoP?" And please, no mention of German Cockpits. From this point on..
My DLC Ideas Italian Fighters/Bombers DLC: It would include several Fiat fighters & Bombers, Reggani fighters & Bombers. Fiat CR42 Biplane, Fiat G55, Fiat Br20 Bomber, Reggani 2001, and Reggani 2005. Ground Attack/Bombers: FW200 Condor, Hs129, and Boulton Paul Defiant And just for the hell of it, maybe a Gloster Gladiator? Your ideas don't have to be restricted to Planes, it could be asking for a new mini map to play on MP?? Like Malta :P |
1) MUST HAVE! Dambusters map plus lancasters...
2) Mosquito plus any number of historical hit and run bombing missions... ________ MOTOR MANUFACTURING KENTUCKY |
The Amiens raid would be absolutely genius!
|
I'd love to see a Hawker Typhoon or Tempest! One of the most beautiful planes, and a very successful fighter bomber.
|
Again that would be brilliant! Maybe a mini campaign based on the closing of the Falaise gap.
It would be nice to see some pacific theatre in there but I guess that would be better suited to a sequel. |

Yeah, probably a fair bit of work there ;) |
Wellington Bomber would be great! I'm not sure really what to put cos i think new A/C just aint gonna happen, so maybe improving and refining stuff thats in game already and adding more paint schemes and removing the CANNONS off the Spitfire and giving the correct paint scheme rather than using green and grey just to provide a different look for the arcade geeks ! :)
|
Typhoon sounds good. One of the most lethal ground attack planes of the theater. And the war.
P-38 Lightning. Few more modes for multi-player. ;-) And somehow incorperate the P-61 Black Widow. The first true night fighter. |

Paint shop: the complete freedom to design our own paint jobs then use them in multiplayer.
Pacific maps & missions aircraft carriers Some fun stuff maybe, like racing or bomb raid racing |
An Operation Barbarossa campaign for the Luftwaffe. Not sure a Russian developer would put it in though.
|
i hope they will make a dlc where we can apply our own paintscheme and i would love to see the avro lancaster so maybe some bomberescort missions into germany or a add on normandy campain with the beaches and the outbreak
|
De havilland Mosquito. Perfect plane for the anti tank, bridge, train missions. They could use the Spitfire engine sound to save trouble too
|
Nice ideas everyone. I think maybe if the incorporate Carriers, they could include some Wildcats with Atlantic markings?
Example of Atlantic Markings http://www.hyperscale.com/features/2..._3/fm1cd_3.jpg |
Wait. You want a Defiant?! That plane sucked! Why would anyone want to fly a fighter without any fixed armament? The Italian planes are a good idea, though. I'd also like to see a P-40E, P-38 & a Tempest.
|
a co-op campaign or two would get me forking out some ms points.
would also like to see some lesser-known or less successful aircraft in the game. actually a defiant would make for some cool co-op night fighting missions if you could have 2 ppl as pilot and gunner, though i agree it wouldnt make a lot of sense as a single player plane. |
i just want a sequel :D hope this game sells well it deserves too
|
Yeah some co-op missions would be very cool to fly in. Also maybe some dedicated bomber missions like the bombing raid on the Ploesti refineries..
|
It would be awesome if bombers had cockpits. Also to be able to fly behind
the stick of a B-17:) |

The reason I wanted a Defiant, was because I was able to take a ride in one. It was a reproduction Defiant, but it had everything the real thing would. And for some reason, I just found it to be a thrill. I know they weren't the best, but you have to give credit for the pilots who flew them.
|
normandy campaign add on with a mosquito and p-61 that would be great bombing the living sh*t out of the germans who are trying to advance towards the beaches
|
Ju 87 G (for allied tank busting)
B-25 H (with the 75 mm cannon for ship hunting) |
Now I know this game is about the European Theatre, but what about a mini campaign over in the Pacific Theatre? A few new maps and planes as well as a whole new faction in Japan.
Since the game's centered in europe this could be a cool way to switch things up. |

Please no paint shop, all the sims that I've played over the years that have had custom skins have ended up with planes online with hideous neon pink planes.
|
Give us night-fighter missions. They played a major role late in the war. Also, they need to include the P-40 in all its versions. There were a lot of P-40s in Europe during the early part of the war. Maybe get a multiplayer mode where you have bombers and escorts. The strike/base capture modes are close, but a fully dedicated bombing mode would really capture what went on in WW II Europe.

- He-111's Cockpit
- Bf-109's Cockpit - He-162's Cockpit - Pe-2 (with his cockpit) - He-219 (with his cockpit) |
I want skins like this
This takes me back I remember being transfixed by this artwork from my childhood. (sorry, slightly off topic). |
although not acurate or real..... how about..
a recreation of 633 squadron?? flying your mossie down the fjord in norway with flak everywhere and enemy fighters.... trying your best to bomb that factory  that would be superb!! |
Quote:
Well......anything with the Mossie would be superb for this game. |
This is what you want - 633 squadron attack, gotta love the wooden wonder thats the mossie!! superb aircraft.
heart thumping music to!! really gets you going. http://http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b2xHydbw8mQ |
I'm liking the idea of flying a mossie!!

My little nephew had one the other day. They haven't changed at all. Anyway, sorry back on topic... |
Ok, I have spent all day rethinking things I would like to see in the game, some of it we might get, some we probably won't, can't get it all.
Night-fighter missions: Mosquitos for the Brits; P-61 Black Widows for the Americans; 110's for the Germans; I am honestly not sure about Russian night fighting, my thesis was on the Luftwaffe and I guess I just never read about them. P-40 in all its variations Operation Torch - down and dirty desert fighting with a lot of ground support missions, sandstorms, difficult navigations, etc. The Tempest and Typhoon, how can you have a WW II game without them? As one guy before me said, The Falaise Gap campaign - air power played a major role in that campaign and a lot of pilots lost their lives doing high-speed, low-level missions, doing everything they possibly could to save the lives of allied ground troops. Give us an online mode where the history of the war is slightly irrelevant. Players choose a side and there is an ongoing war. Your faction gains ground depending upon airfield captures or wins. Then your faction is able to use that airfield in the war. Like the old conquest mode in MechAssault 2. Maybe a "What If..." campaign where the Luftwaffe didn't screw up so bad and held on a little longer; P-38J/L - they played a big part in Europe, not as much as the Pacific, but it was a great attack platform; Customizable Aircraft! I don't mean totally unrealistic, Andy Warhol disaster art, just the kind of customizations that were available: nose art, squadron paint schemes, the little things that mattered. On that note: Squadron/Clan Support - If people had a squadron system built into the game, squadrons could fight other squadrons, everybody could work together towards a common goal. Some squadrons might have guys that are expert bombers, while some are better fighters. Squadrons could work together to play to their strengths. It might take more than 16-player online support, but PS3 has it, why can't the 360 as well? Finally... Photo Reconnaisance missions - those guys had serious guts, you take an unarmed plane into hostile air, be as fast as you can and as accurate with the camera as you can, relying only on God, good pilotage and airspeed to keep you alive. They have done such an amazing job representing how flying really works in this game so I almost feel guilty asking for more from the developers. But, a wish list is a wish list. |

Planes. MP modes. And historical missions.
|
633 Squadron - So Bad, it's Good.
How about a precision attack on Gestapo HQ? With better realism than the Movie, of course... LJB:cool: |

I would pay good money for a Project Natal head tracking upgrade DLC once natal hits the shelves (it'd need some kind of fiddle factor though so the 'pilot' could look behind while I could still look at the screen).
I personally don't like too much MP stuff as DLC as it limits the number of games you can join if you don't have it. Plane packs would be an obvious choice and they could be a compulsory download but you can only use the planes if you pay (like with the knothole island DLC for Fable2, if you are co-oping with a friend you can go there but you cant do any of the quests) if so F6 Hellcat please :D. I'm really liking the sound of the Strike MP mode so maybe some variants or that? Extra missions are always welcome too. |
Personally I wouldn't mind seeing a Pacific Theater DLC pack, with F4U Corsairs, Zeros and Hellcats. ;p Another thing I wouldn't mind seeing is a more in depth paint scheme creator. We all love to have our identity, so why not let us roll around with some of our own style that we can show off and trade? I mean wouldn't it be cool to have squad colours or some very identifiable Red Baron type who has a unique paint scheme all to his own?

How about the P39 Airacobra....?
It's a sleek looking killing machine that saw quite a lot of active service on the Eastern Front... |
