Rookie signing up, got a few questions...
 

Hey, Ghillie here, read about this game about a month ago and got into it a lot. looking forward to the demo on PS3 and looking forward to a possible purchase. I looked on these forums and thought; "hey, i must sign up, these guys sound alright" and so i just got a few questions that i hope you can answer :)

1) Is there a PS3 clan for a guy like me that wants to play the game and have fun, with a good clan spirit, i could get into formation flying stuff like that. i will primarily play arcade then go to realistic, then sim (seems hard though :/)

2) anyone recommend a good, cheap (oxymoron i know...) joystick for the ps3, i really want the precision, but i cant afford much :evil:

3) Is there a way to have custom liveries (paintjobs) for your aircraft (i got a LOT of cool ideas for my MK II Spit :D

can't answer any of your questions, but if you are going to pre-order the game, i recommend getting it from zavvi.co.uk, as it is almost half price!

1)There is only one ps3 squadron right now head over to the thread,

we still have room for a couple more people and if you wish to join we would be glad to have you.

2)There is only two options right now for a stick for the ps3, the Saitek AV8R, and the Thrustmast T-flight HOTAS X, the second choice will probably be the best because it has a seperate stick and throttle (HandOnThrottleAndStick) and you can map the buttons.

3)There is different skins for most planes but sadly you will not be able to have custom skins.

my fav is probs the compilation, but the first one seems philisophical some ways.

Damn bro, those are great. The "being shot down" one gave me a lump in my throat. I just showed those vids to my wife and I think she has a whole new appreciation for why I am so interested in this game.

Nice. So what happens when you hit A button, does the plane explode?

nope, it just resets the plane in the sky.

I was reading somewhere that everybody's plane was exploding, when trying a belly landing.
How long can you sit there in the plane without hitting A will anything happen if you don't hit the button?

yep, its hard to do, but i did it without exploding :), btw post stuff about this video here instead, because this thread title is irrelevant :D

Your plane explodes when getting new damage, so when you belly land and lose a wing, THEN your props get damage its Boom.

So if you have enough damage to not be able to take-off + new damage = Explosion.

Hope the "landing gear not deployed" sound alert in the (early?) bf109 is in place, simple and yet effective reminder

In the pc game early 109 models had a ground alert sound if the landing gear isnt down
