two evil words "Deutsche Cockpits"
 

Hello Community,

as all "gernam cickpot" (words slightly changed as I am not allowed to mention them) threads are locked (wonder why), I just wanted to tell you that I contacted the french site who published the review (Micromania), or better the author of the article and just asked him if he can assure that none of the german planes did have a "cickpot". Maybe he can also tell us what build he was using.

I know thats all speculation but I am still very sceptical. I guess this will be allowed. Should I recieve an answer I will post it here. No further discussion needed. Dont want to piss off anyone.

I don't think the mods were pissed off, I'm pretty sure they were just doing their job to be frank. Claiming someone is pissed off when they are not is a good way to get them pissed off...QED...;)

Thans for the friendly words mate, normaly I would not make such a fuzz about stuff like this. I only find it very very strange that we have not had a statement by Anton, who so far (i have been reading this forum for ages) has answered even the most silly of questions. Its either this one sentence by the grandmaster himself OR the "yes or no" experience when I insert my BoP CD into the console. And to be honest, personaly I fly german planes only in IL2 and would not buy BoP if I had no cockpit view. ONE SENTENCE MISTER YUDINTSEV PLEASE!!!

Listen, I was not pissed off you didn't hurt my feelings, but when you rearrange the letters of certain words and type Deutsche "German" Cockpits , and being sarcastic about it just shows how immature you can be. The questions were fine to ask in one thead not "four different threads" and I'm sure its been noted.

Probably because he can't the reasons why is publisher (Which he has said before) or all the other posts about how this game is not going to be good because of this, or how many people are not going to buy it now.

If we don't find out about the cockpits until launch then wait until launch day and come to the forum to find out before you buy.

Please keep us posted. I think the so called German cockpits are going to fall along the same line as the P-51. Meaning there is going to be one cockpit for the 109 and the 190.

Its Dutch, not german. But quite understandable for a Kraut like me ;-) Nothing new in the thread, the guy with the promo has not answered on the cockpit question yet

I would love to believe that, but the fact until now and the fact that no one said anything precise so far makes me think the worst is to come.

If thats realy the case I feel kind of being treated like a fool. Keep the community going by spreading non precise information that anybody interprets differently and blow the bomb after they bought their copy of the game. Spend money, find out everything else afterwards! And what makes my sad is not thats cockpits are missing, but that we have probably have been told rubbish knowingly up until now.

IL2 with no Multiplayer component - at least for me. Who wants to fly a camera!?

I will take what i can get, still its very sad :(

Thy might say the promos arent full versions of the game... wich dont seem handy to me though.

If Anton said "There are german cockpits in game for the following planes" I would believe him.

As he just spend a time here reading threads on other subjects and ignoring us again I suppose we have to live with the fact of having been treated like fools for the last weeks, at least concerning the cockpit thing.

I have to say I'm extremely disappointed. What an extraordinary and crucial ommision , and one that has shattered my expectations and enthusiasm for the game.

I am really shocked that people would not buy the game if some cockpit views were missing. I'm not passing judgment as I respect personal opinions but it seems to me like cutting off the nose to spite the face. Maybe I just don't understand how passionate some people are about certain aircraft. Maybe flying different planes will help develop appreciation for other aircraft.

More than just preference it's an imbalance in the MP portion of the game. If in sim-settings one plane has about 60% of the view eliminated by the plane's interior and other dude has a completely clear field of view...Who do you think has an immediate advantage?


That the Bf109's are some of the war's most iconic aircraft.

I appreciate other aircraft all right, I appreciate their weaknesses relative to a Bf109. ;)

Seriously though, this is really going to mess up Sim mode online.

Dont forget everyone can use virtual cockpit, but yea it DOES make it less SIM

I'm amazed about the 109 ommission seeing as you only have to look at literature and other media to see a SERIOUSLY fanatical fanbase of this plane...
but then maybe I shouldn't be...if cockpits are potentially dlc then its just another cash cow...

All MASSIVE speculation I know but I'm beginning to think enthusiasm for a game is being interpreted as " lets milk 'em" by the publishers...

and there's me thinking MW2 was going to be bad for "double-dipping" punters

I had not considered this element. That alone might make a person choose a plane without a cockpit as there would be a clear advantage. I also didn't know that the Me109 was so popular (same as a Bf109 right?). I can't imagine a missing cockpit for a P-51. If the cockpit is offered for sale as DLC I will buy it, but I would hope that the devs didn't do this on purpose.
Considering Anton has been very open to ideas and sharing his knowledge up until this issue, has anyone considered that he may be just letting us squirm for fun and that the retail game actually DOES have all the cockpits?

Why don't we all just WAIT AND SEE.

If it's a game breaker, and you pre-order, don't open the game until you find out. Most places let you return unopened games (just ask to make sure).

So its proof, unless his version aint the full version wich doesent make sense because he has to review it.

A review could be done on a demo I imagine. Can someone link this review? I personally have faith in the devs that this is a rumor run wild. If it is true and the cockpits are missing then the devs will have to answer to the people that buy the game. I still think it is odd that Anton has yet to post a comment when he is very involved in the forums (for a dev). He has stated in another post that there will be upgrades coming. Was this a hint? If the cockpits do exist and the devs are keeping quite just to watch the rumor mill turn itself inside out then I imagine they are enjoying this immensely. They have been addressing paranoid issues all along so maybe they thought they would just let this one play itself out *fingers crossed*.

Dude it wassent a Review, Dude who had just recieved a promo copy of the game told us on dutch forum there was no cockpit for several german planes.

To me its unlikely a review copy isnt full version, but still could be.
Just dont get your hopes up.

This german cockpit problem better not be true. If it is then this game is gonna have problems and they probably wont fix it. Someone needs to explain whats going on with this game because this game might fail.

well be ready for it, if its not true in the end only better.
Anyway with or without i think this game is gonna kick ass.
I do love the cockpit view and its a shame if they arent there, but this game is all im getting in this genre.
And im glad i can have an expirience like this, its still a game you just gotta enjoy yourself with the tools you've got.
Ofcourse its a let down for the ppl who used to play il-2 on the pc, I'm sure Anton and his team did there best making this game.

I am a person who loves flying and flight games. Your right its all about what you got and imagination. All I can say is we will see until the release. And to those who wish for cockpit view, dont get let down. The game is still a ways
off and they have enough time to fix some things.

But.......it comes out in September.......2009.

I don't know what to think about all this. It may be true, but if there are no cockpits for certin planes, then I doubt we would have to wait long to recieve them. It would have to be DLC. But there is now way we would be charged for something that should be in the game anyway.

And "Promotional Copy" does'nt mean much to me. I could say the demo is a promo.

Having to pay for cockpits of planes that are already in the game is like being forced to pay the electric company extra because your power went out for a week.

There would be outrage. It would be a bigger mistake then never having the pits at all.

Nah, they won't charge for cockpits. These will come in a free patch somewhere down the line once they have got round to completing them. What they will charge for are new aircraft and maps, stuff like that.

Then I'll get around to considering purchasing this game. The way ic has been evading and outright ignoring direct questions leads me to believe there are more issues with this project than just missing cockpits.

all they need to do is one generic kraut cockpit...somewhere between a 109 and a 190....then when they're feeling ace about this achievement they might get round to a generic jet cockpit...and then when we can feel slightly less deflated...

as it happens we have a p47 cockpit in a p51....maybe generic nationality cockpits will be the way it goes for a while...
(I bet the russian Cockpit are ALL there!....:eek::eek::eek:)
