Welcome aboard :). Release date was not changed. Russian version will be released in Russia and CIS countries on 27th November. In Driving Walkthrough video person from 1C announced that english version will be released in January 2010, and now they just updated 1cpublishing.com with this information, so there aren't any changes concerning release date :)

You can see the video here if you haven't yet:
http://www.gametrailers.com/player/52179.html

DaWolf 08-04-2009 03:32 PM

ok, thanks.
i´ve followed the postings in this forum here and have seen all vids, which are presented here :)
i´m also waiting for a few years that this game finally comes out :(
but if that what you said is true, then it´s all right^^

Nike-it 08-05-2009 06:06 AM

DaWolf do not worry, the game will be released in time (January 2010 is the most probable date). We will need some time to localize the version, that's why it will be released some time later than Russian version.

DaWolf 08-05-2009 11:08 AM

all right nike-it. i knew, that it will take a few month. i thought that they delayed the date of the release in russia :)
i´m curious to play the game finally.

Whiskey 08-05-2009 11:26 AM

could you say a list of languages? or it will only be translated to english?

Freak Of Nature 08-05-2009 12:26 PM

Please ask all questions in "Questions to Igor" thread.

pook 08-05-2009 01:03 PM

Maybe it would be good to do this thread. Wishes for the future Patches, datadisks .... and what players want. Softlab to know what players want astray in the dark and that it did not take another 100 years. This is horrible to wait for the game about 6 years old and not knowing if it is worth it to wait ........(((Therefore, I do not want to have better questions. Another issue would be delayed parody)))

That's a good idea, I think I'll make this kind of thread :)

nooooooooooooooooooooo errors are no big deal games FLOP because of them, when you have errors in the game it does not make the developers look good especially when they flew to california took pictures of the trucks and drove around california
its pretty sad
ivan lives in british columbia canada
rowan lives in the netherlands
i live in nova scotia canada
we go off pictures we find on the internet to make these trucks not pictures from a trip we took when we went to another continent
look at forza, midnight club, test drive unlmited especially those games have mega detailed cars and environment their vehicles dont have BIG errors like these trucks and the games dont take as long, you can say bla bla thats because they have a bigger team than 30 people or so who cares honestly.tdu took like 2-3 years has better looking environments, cars ect

and if you kindly look at my post above now that i have added pictures of what i am talking about

plus our trucks have 3D interiors not dashes that are all textures that look funny

Freak Of Nature 08-07-2009 05:41 PM

I don't think RnR will FLOP because of only those errors... Anyway we've gone way of topic, so let's get back to it.

pook 08-07-2009 08:09 PM

Ok. Model doing a nice model. But in the game by SCS engine it looks ridiculous. Bad primitive game engine and rear physics. It behaves as antimatter in the game because stupid SCS engine. To save even modeled trucks and trailers.

Ubaku 08-09-2009 12:12 AM

Guys sorry that I have been ignoring you lately. The arrival of the new PR manager Sergey Babaev has caused some crazy stuff to happen. Good stuff but crazy.

Now finally after 8 years of waiting we get our own personal PR manager from Softlab-Nsk whose job is to make us happy. Umm LOL. Very nice but it would be nicer if this happened years ago ;-)

Anyway he asked me to do stuff at truckpol and I forgot to update you here. Sorry. You already have most of the new information in threads started by Freak of Nature.

I have Sergey Babaev on instant messenger and talk to him often. First of all he actually works in the Softlab-Nsk building and plays RnR every time it us updated, in other words often. Jealous LOL. He told me some things about what he saw. This game is going to be amazing. If he tells me anything else I will tell you.

One thing he said is YES DAMN IT it will finally come out in November 2009 make sure 100% of this. So stop even thinking about it. It is no longer an issue.

Ubaku 08-09-2009 12:16 AM

blog translation

Guys I will be the one translating part of this blog http://rignroll.taba.ru. I have just translated one of the articles there, and it will soon appear on the english version of the blog. Before then you can read it.

It is the translation of this article, impressions of Sergey Babaev about the steering wheel in RnR.
http://rignroll.taba.ru/blog/f/Blog/...ya_v_igre.html

Please look at the website above to see the pictures referred to here.

Here is the translation. Enjoy.

The use of the steering wheel in the game. Refuse to use the keyboard? Here is what to do.

Ok, enough! Enough playing using the keyboard, I thought to myself as I was replacing my keyboard yet again, this time from regular to ergonomic, from ergonomic to gaming, and so on. It is obvious what I should try next, a steering wheel, pedals, gearbox, the only thing not so obvious is which choice to make.

There were many wheels. There was a regular yet massive one called Defender Forsage Turbo (pic 1), A sporty one Dialog GW-23FB Gran Turismo 2 (pic 2), and even an uncomfortable one called Genius SpeedWheel RV FF (pic 3) whose gamepad got in the way of actual steering.

Then I looked at the logitech wheels, which are the best and easiest to use. No we are not partners with Logitech and I'm not advertising them, its just that most gamers seem to love their
products.

But even here the choice was hard. Logitech MOMO Racing Force Feedback (pic 4) and Logitech G25 Racing Force

Feedback Wheel.(pic 5). I chose the second one, and think that most people will agree with me.

Step 1: Getting ready to drive.

This was the second time I ever used a steering wheel, except in arcade games of course. Later I realised that I have no clue how to use the gearbox, and stood in neutral for 1 minute pressing on the gas pedal without moving. Oh well, the only way out is automatic transmission.

Then I chose the view, outside view to be exact. Of course its cool to look at your powerful 18 wheeled metal stallion, but its much more comfortable to drive from the driver's cabin view. Then I customized my view so that I can also see a good part of the truck itself from the driver's view.

So then I carefully pushed on the gas pedal, held the steering wheel with confidence and looked. All the gauges in the truck cabin began to move and the virtual steering wheel perfectly mimicked my physical movements, even the slightest vibrations. That is one of the things that really caught my eye, the synchronization of the physical and virtual steering wheels. You know how in some games we turn the wheel all the way, and the virtual wheel hardly moves at all, or we hardly touch the wheel at all, and the the virtual wheel rotates 90 degrees. But I am very happy to say that there was no such problem in Rig'n'Roll.

Second step: My first impressions

What I really enjoyed doing is turning the wheel as far as it can go and then letting it go until it returned to the default position, while watching the virtual wheel mimic this action perfectly. But here I repeat myself as I already said how well the virtual wheel responds to the physical one. Of course you first need to regulate the settings a little for this to be perfect.

Also you need to get used to each truck separately, because some trucks require less of a turn on the wheel than others to go around the same car when passing the car for example.

I tried the formula 1 like speed controls. I am not a big fan of this and feel that its uses in real life are limited, however it is very useful in the game. Imagine that you need to run away from the cops while carrying a heavy trailer and the fine if he catches you is very expensive, its then when this extra speed is very nice.

In summary, these are basically my impressions of using the steering wheel in Rig'n'Roll. Pretty, effective, realistic. My only problem was my constant want to use the keyboard, but I realize that some games are meant to be used with keyboards, while Rig'n'Roll is one of those which was meant to be used with a steering wheel, as in fact were the earlier games in the Dalnoboyshiki series.

Thats all you have to say to that? Redirect the statement to 18 Wos series and completely ignore what he said. evh5150vanhalen is right. RnR may have some new features that we have not seen in any truck simulator before but RnR has many errors and it does wreck games. Few little errors are a big deal, I bet even Soft-Lab NSK would say the same since they have taken this long just to make the game, and it seems they have run out of time, finally, to produce what they call the best trucking simulator ever. I bet if they had more time they would take it because they would know themselves that there truck models are out dated, and if they don't, they should open their eyes a little more and look around.

On another note, thanks Ubaku for the translation. Will Sergey Babaev produce any videos of RnR or only comment about this experiences?

I'm not going to write long litanys.... Trucks models in RnR looks very good detailed, and if they aren't perfectly accurate that's not a big tragedy. This is my opinion. That's it, end of disccusion. Now please stay ON TOPIC otherwise I will have to remove all off-topic posts. It's RnR News thread not RnR error or bug one. So please stay on topic. :)

Ubaku thanks for the translation. Hope to find more of them here soon :)

Rig'n'Roll preview apeared on gameland.ru few days ago. It has some new interesting details about game scenario:

Main hero Nikolai [Perepolov] arrives into the states to visit friend and associate - [dalnoboyshchika] on im Mathew [Tirson]. They soon kill American, the police cannot find and punish criminals, investigation ceases. To Nikolai one must very explain the reason of the loss of comrade, and at the same time try to achieve the successes in the familiar matter on the foreign land.

And about the game itself:

To the topical campaign it is removed the order of 20 hours. In this case it is assumed that the player will not be seriously, which is called, to build business, to develop its own automobile firm. More thorough game - “economic passage” - is limited by 80 hours. Here acts rule “if it did not have time, then lost”. Specifically, in the designated time it is necessary to have time to overcome all competitors and to make its company most profitable and most influential corporation in the American industry of freight traffic.

You can read whole preview in Russian here:
http://www.gameland.ru/pc/dalnobojsh...reviews/45853/

"Subjugation of America".
I have seen this before, and I guess it might be a mistranslation. If not, I think its an incredibly stupid subtitle that does not describe the game in any way.
"Conquest of America" would be better I guess.

It's because of the translator I used. Babelfish translator translates as Subjugation, while google translator translates as Conquest :)

3dartpol website member Maxidyne went to gamescom and had a chanse to play RnR. Here are his thoughts about the game:

After a long but nice drive we (me and my mate) arrived at the GamesCom fair. Saw a lot of really nice stands with great games. But after searching for a while we finally found RnR stand. After waiting for almost a half hour, I finally got the change to play it. And I can say: this game is really worth waiting for!! The graphics are updated when you compare it with the old game trailers. The game is well worked out, you can trick out the trucks with a lot of accessories. Didn't had the change to play story mode. I played some sort of arcade mode. The steering is realistic compared to 18 wos games, the feel and handling of the trucks is really good. Too bad I only played it for like 10 min. or so. I had brought along my camera, but when I put the SD card in my card reader the pictures aren't really sharp. The problem was that I didn't set the camera to fluorescent lighting. It was still in sunny daylight mode. I will try to photoshop them and post the pics.

No this post is not 3dartpol's, but his website member's Maxidyne :)

pook 08-23-2009 08:46 AM

I might be poorly expressed. My English is very poor. Maxidyne is 3dartpol forum moderator. I read his post there. But this is irrelevant. The essential thing is that it is uninterested person and such views are always from the heart. Such a view is useful uninterested players than all interviews and reviews, where the majority speak pretty bluntly, because it's almost paid advertising .....

Well I'm moderator not admin. I'll try to do my best not to let down Nike-it, who offered to become moderator, and you guys, as a result I have fresh and probably best news this week. It's taken from truckpol forum, all thanks goes to member "thebandit991". ;)

According to the community website, Igor Belago has already finished answering all the interview questions and on Monday (August 24th) the web team will be working on putting together the interview and adding screenshots into an organized/finished format which will be made available to us on several sources (official site, community site, etc.) In addition, it has been stated that there are certain objects in the game's environment that are destructible (some poles can be knocked down, while others cannot). The team will spend the next week capturing in-game video for a new trailer that will allow us to hear environmental sounds, engine sounds, and in-game music.

Great news! Sweet videos :].

The collision physics still looks a bit off sometimes (100 times better than in "King of the Road" though ;)), but the damage effecs are just amazing

Besides, love the HDR

Didn't they said that the colisions were fixed? I also remember they said this fair were the first time where the full game were exposed. So it's a bit weird, isn't it?

It won't be released on September 1. Russian version will be released on 27th November, English will be released in January 2010. :)

drexit 08-25-2009 06:02 PM

I know it will be released in 27th November, but Russian? In Russian lang.? It´s not good because I don´t understand Russian language only English. That´s really bad. I hoped it will be also in English in 27 November.

Don't panic, we'll get the English version in January ;). It just happens, that game is being developed by Russian company, so it's easier for them to produce Russian version first. When it's translated and polished for an international release, we'll get it :) I hope ;D

Those interiors in the video looks so sweet :D

Ah, and that rain shot... It really should silence all those "critics", complaining about outdated graphics :-P

bakingcookies 09-05-2009 08:36 AM

the dashboards are still inaccurate, and low res textured. Not my cup of tea.

drexit 09-05-2009 08:57 AM

Beautiful three screens :)

I have one question. I have small chat with my friends on one slovak website and we have questions. On the second screen (from last posted screens from Freak Of Nature) you can see that truck´s lights are lighting, but trailer´s not. Will we can turn trailer´s lights on or not?

you have to use the right thread, to ask questions, drexit. look at the forum ;)
i think there is nothing special to say about the lightning, it´s not bad, but it isn´t so great, either.

drexit 09-06-2009 08:12 AM

I know but there are screens and I think that there I have to post the question ;)

Whiskey 09-06-2009 07:20 PM

in the first screen, the black strip shouldn't have rain dops.

flykas 09-07-2009 02:10 PM

Why shouldn't it ? I thinks it's not on the glass, glass is under it

Whiskey 09-08-2009 10:55 AM

The black strip is not transparent, so the rain drop is on the face you can't see. From the inner face it shouldn't have any distortion, or am I wrong?

Freak Of Nature 09-08-2009 03:33 PM

Russian version of the interview has already been released, so english one should be out shortly ;)

to me it looks like the black strips is not a sticker on the windshield. but a separate part that goes on the top of the cabin (like this in chrome http://www.hino.com/parts/pic_85.jpg ), so the wet windhield is under it. What looks bad for me is that dash with buttons is one texture, and it has reflection on it so the butons look like in a photo.

yes the black part is the back side of the visor and the rain will get up there by the force of the find driving down the road

trucknisse 09-10-2009 03:32 AM

An interview was posted on the official RigNRoll webpage today. It is in Russian, so I am not sure if we have already seen this. Is it the one posted here before?

digit 09-10-2009 04:24 AM

Driver is really bad...

flykas 11-06-2009 09:45 PM

hm Nothing new I noticed. Bud damn it realy scares with these physics, sometimes it looks like it's worse than hard truck 2 ,but mayeb it's jus because he is driving with a keyboard.

No he was driving with steering wheel. I think someone tried to be funny and set the wheel on high sensitivity, maybe that's why the player drives like he's drunk all the time, because the wheel it too sensitive :)

drexit 11-07-2009 05:21 PM

Nice video, but u r right driver is really bad :)

Whiskey 11-07-2009 06:34 PM

I can't undertand how a truck can produce such amount of black smoke while moving at 3mph without a trailer atached.

In Europe it wouldn't be legall at all, hope in EEUU neither

Affortunatly, it seems to only occur in cut-scenes.

Nice find pook, thanks!!

Kielas 11-08-2009 04:48 PM

Is this videos from demo version or from official that will be in stores? I see only 13 models of trucks, no Mack, no Volvo, no International, no licensed names like Peterbilt (Hercules) or Kenworth(Titan). Cars starts jumping when you hit them. And physics doesen't look good. He can't make U-turn on 4 lanes. I can't imagine turning on wide intersection with trailer in this game.

movo. 11-08-2009 04:57 PM

Collision physics still not fixed... And no licences for some trucks like Mack etc.. :(
