I am new here and I am going to say.........
TO ALL THE PEOPLE SAYING THEY ARE NOT GOING TO BUY THE GAME FOR SOME OTHER DUMB REASON OR ANOTHER...............SHUT THE HELL UP!
I have waited for a long time for a sim on consoles and I'll be dammned if I am going to let you little whining bastards ruin this. Shut up and be thankful that we have a game like this at all that deals with the coolest planes ever made. Or you could go play that other WWII flight sim on consoles...............oh wait, there isn't any. shut your mouths, buy the game and have fun. that is all |

LOL I'm not whining, I'm telling them to STFU and play the game when it comes out. If it does well we will have a sequel and maybe a series that includes modern aircraft. Use your heads people, there hasn't been anything like this on console period.
I broke out my PC flight cockpit and have been playing non stop. Hell it even got me to play Hawx again. LOL |

MAYAman, please enlighten me. What is the point for a discussion forum for this game, if you are telling everyone who asks a question about some point in the game to STFU? I really don't think this a very civil attitude TBH. This forum serves the purpose for people to ask questions about the game, whether it is a small criticism or an overall gripe. Such comments wouldn't mean they dislike the game, they may just want to make it better or even to make the sequel you mention better. I am really looking forward for the demo to come out on PSN and then I wish to buy the game. I can understand you like it, but everyone is entitled to their own opinion, and Anton has said they are using people's opinions to make the game better. If your telling us to STFU if we have a bad point to say, how could Anton possibly make the game better?
|
^^^STFU!
Joke :p Seriously, I understand. I have been gaming a long time since the 70s and I know the type. "this game doesn't scratch my ass, I am not buying you developer you are stupid" legit gripes about control? OK, but its too late now, just deal with it. Maybe next time. |

There is most certainly a choice, and competion for Birds of Prey as Heroes Over Europe releases a week before it in the US. |

Wrong. Heroes Over Europe is NOT a flight sim. |

I have to agree with Versapak, if Heros over Europe is anything like Heros of the Pacific BOP has my money. Heros of the Pacific was fun, but I don't want to fly in a vacum devoid of gravity, wind, etc. if I wanted that I would just play Mario Kart.

however heroes of the pacific was fun but bop gets my vote |

Yes, they are two games coming out on the same consoles, and they both involve planes. They are not at all the same kind of games though. One game is striving to give a realistic flight experience, while the other isn't focused on that at all. Do you consider Forza and Burnout to both be competing games also? |

If you check out both games you can clearly see they are both very different. |
The fact is they are WWII flight games one may be more hardcore, but as WWII flight games they are still directing competing against other. They are both WWII flight games, and that is the bottom line at the end of the day.
I admit I am not at all a hardcore flight sim fan, and that is why I am leaning towards Heros Over Eruope, but if Birds of Prey got far better reviews I would mostly like get it instead. |

Heroes Over Europe and Birds of Prey aren't really competing against each other for the arcade and sim gamers, but there is a large proportion of the market who have not yet decided to buy either game, and the game that comes out first is more likely to secure impulse purchases. |

The people that buy games on day one are generally people that have been waiting for that game, and are informed about it. . |

Seriously... The number of sales that they are likely to lose to casual gamers in that time is not that huge. How much money do you seriously think Ubisoft is going to throw into pushing HOE? Customers aren't going to walk into the store and be hit by a media blitz for it. It is a niche audience, and its advertising budget will reflect that. BoP already has an excellent demo out there, and they have positive word of mouth from that going into release. HOE has none of that. Far fewer people have even heard of HOE. . |
ok lets do this like a scientist
1. do a servey 2. get a test subject :D 3. ask the test subject about the 2 games 4. uv got an answer and because u got a test subject without a licence 20 years in jail :D |

damn this was suposed to be in the message above :( |
dennis your logic is faulty and the fact that you would go by reviews instead of renting the game and find out for yourself doesn't bode well for your gaming hobby. Don't trust the opinion of a jaded game reviewer, rent the game, play it and make up your mind yourself. Your hobby will be more satisfying and you could potentially be passing up on hidden gems if you trust others for everything.
