P-51D cockpit view
It looks as though the cockpit for the P-51D is actually a P-47D cockpit(windshield, instrument panel, gunsight arrangement, etc...)

another thing i noticed was that the sights did not react to the movement of the plane (ie bob and sway when turning)

Yeah I thought it looked odd in the screenshots posted. I think you are right. |

For anyone who is currently playing the demo, can this be confirmed or denied? Is the P-51D cockpit inaccurate?

As for demo, it is obvious. |
Will this be corrected?

i mean.... its the p51 , kinda a prolific fighter plane and it features heavily in the campaign i would understand subsituting some of the other planes , but the p51? what happened? |

There are certain inaccuracies in the game. Wrong skin for Spit, wrong cockpit for P51 among them. Not that we've made somekind mistake - we knew it, there were reasons for each of these issues. Some explanations are better, some are not so good. One thing I can tell you for sure - we'll be more accurate in a future, despite any reasons. |

Gold master can't be easily corrected. |
Thanks for answering my questions (and PM), Anton. ;)
|
Yes, thanks for the information. Hopefully it will be corrected at some point in the future. I would think that correct cockpits for aircraft would be of some importance.

Whoua, P-51D with P-47 cockpit...Damned... as it's been already said P-51 is so important...why this plane ?
And Spit skin also...sad...I'am so much in love of this plane :( Well, I think the Skin will not be really a problem. I'am sure you will fix it latter ;) But My question to Anton is are they some problem like those one with other planes ? I mean We will see the cockpit for a ME109 and Fw-190 or a Me-262 with Me-163 Cockpit ?? I hope no ! All others skin looks really good...so...just fix spit prob :) :) Best regards and keep the good works ++ |

But I am asking myself, Spit MK 2 had 2 20mm ? isnt'it from the MK V ? I was thinking that the Spit from Battle of Britain was the MK 2 with eight machin gun isnt'it ? So maybe I am wrong, so much version... Oh and one more time I ask this quiestion I can't find an answer anywhere, but is there an option to have limited ammo and fuel ? sorry for that Thx ! ++ |

Not in the campaign, but in single missions you can. The campaign is meant to give the console audience the high action that they have come to expect from flying games like Ace Combat and HAWX, while the single missions are there to cater to the sim guys with limited resources and a more realistic pace. |

But my last question is still without answer ;) ++ |

Yeah I was scpetical on the way to finish a mission like the one in the Ardenne with only 10 rockets tu blown up all the tanks, 88 and train lol thank you for this answer ++ |

It should be the mark 1 with 8 browning .303's or.... It should be a mark 1b with 2 canons, not 2 canons and 4 .303's. Some might have still had the spaces on the wings for .303's, but they didn't carry them. |

After flying it for awhile I'm beginning to wonder if we aren't flying a Jug in Mustang clothing.
It flys like a P47, it has a P47 cockpit and the mission fits a P47. Maybe the cockpit is messing with my head but to me it feels more like a P47 all around than it does a P51. |
Heh. I felt the same way too. About the flight characteristics, not the cockpit that is.
|
Plane feels heavier than a P51 should too. I'm going to dig out Il2 1946 and play it with a 360 controller to see if this plane flys more like a P51 or a P47
