A friend and I are looking forward to this game, we have been following it since last year. We are looking for some people to fly with before the game ships so we dont go in alone. Im not too sure of exactly how the multiplayer is going to be, but flying in a group is better than flying alone :). We have been playing Il2 on hyperlobby for over a year and for something like this to come to console is simply amazing. We both have real life flying experience and i am a licensed pilot. We look forward to have a good time flying together and against ;). My gamertag is Kamak86 and his is Mer1in85. From the obvious nature of our gamer tags you can tell we were born in the 80s. lol anyways I hope to see some of you fly with us.

Been watching the forum for a while now, and waiting for a game like this to appear on the 360 for years. Used to play F15 Strike Eagle II on the Amiga and before that Stealth Fighter on the Commodore 64 - anybody here that old?

A bit rusty now but getting back into this flying malarky with the demo.

I also used to play the old Chuck Yeager game on PC, that was awesome at the time!

P.s. The following video review just reminded me... F-16 on the Sega Master System could have beaten BOP to being the first console flight sim! It required you to plug in both controllers, left one for pitch and yoke, right one for throttle! Thats gotta be one of the first HOTAS setups ever! Happy memories (even though I was seriously crap at this game)!

Brilliant. That's pretty much how Stealth Fighter used to look on the C64! I also remember F16 Falcon on the Amiga - must have been about 1989.

Now I feel old. I think I played my first C64 game back in '83.

The closest thing i ever played to a flight sim on a console was afterburner!:rolleyes:

The Speed is on the left, altimeter on the right, top is heading. The grey bits at the bottom of the screen are the HDD - Heads Down Display. The HUD is the white lines that you look through.. god he dosent know anything... i stoped watching after he was on about the HUD..

Well, you can always come fine me, BFE1127 or Nerek21. If you played Hawx, Blazing Angels 1 & 2, Over G, or AC6, we probably killed you at some point. Being ranked #1 and #3 in the world respectively does tend to sting a few asses. It doesn't hurt that we are both highly experienced real world pilots.

Well, I just threw out a bunch of invites.

I can't wait for the release. I hate demo's. I'm pretty excited to actually compete on a level playing field. I'm going to get absolutely throttled at first, but it'll be a blast to get competent in a full on sim style combat game.

my GT is DandyMountfarto, you'll spot me a mile off as i'll be hopelessly flapping about the virtual sky tryin to figure out just what the hell is going on! just cos i enjoy WWII flight sims doesnt translate into me being any good at them.

think my first experience of flight sims were tomahawk and spitfire '40 on the good ol' zx spectrum in the mid '80s! then there was dambusters and ace of aces on c64 - anyone else remember those. great old days eh?

I'm up for flying with a squadron. my gamestop told me I can get it Thursday, they said the 2nd was the ship date, maybe they will do it later wed.

I only have the controller ATM, but I won my third try at an ace edge bundle from ebay. Hoping to get it sometime soon! UPS can be so slow. Most likely I will be doing offline to unlock planes while I wait for the flightstick.

I believe one of the developers said that all the planes will be available for multi from day 1, only the German planes will not have cockpits. The controller isn't all bad, at least you guys have wheel brakes. I called Gamestop today and they are still expecting it to ship tomorrow, but they won't have the manifest for that shipment until around noon tomorrow. If Gamestop lied to the world I say we lead a march on their headquarters in Grapevine, TX and cover the place in monkey poo.

I watched the entire Demo Broadcast Video and i thought he said that you unlock planes for MP by compleating the campaign missions.

then select easy mode, and lets burn through it to get the MP planes :) Call of Duty World at War only took 4 Hours to complete, I reckon I could burn through this inside 6 :)

Oh ill be burning though those missions like crazy to get my planes. Im almost if not more pumped for this game than any other game before....its jst one thing is missing...only about 1/4 of my friends feel the same way about this game as i do. the rest dont care or say things like "lame" or "gay" :( they just want MW2 or ODST

yeah that is a shame, none of my mates are interested, and the only one who would may only buy it on PC as he doesnt have an xbox. sucks dont it :) still, thats why squads are great, meet new people, get on with some of them, and have a great time :)

I cant wait to fly all the time with friends, its going to be sweet, i have many people from here to have fun and fly with. I also was wondering how the voice system is going to work, are we going to have markers for friendlies who are talking to know whos in trouble or is everyone going to use the party system? Can the party system even handle 8 people?

the party system has a maximum of 8 people, but i know as a squad we'll probably be in party mode, unless it becomes temporamental.
