Where to hire Black Dragons?
 

I just finished up the Necromancer's Castle and lost one of my 3 black dragons in the battle, the three from the Black Tower.

Green Dragons are hired from Thousand Isles, Bone Dragons are hired from Land of Death various locations... where are Red and Black dragons hired from?

You can find the black dragon egg in the Pocket Castle and then clone it via Sacrifice.

EDIT: I think I bought dragons somewhere, but I'm not sure.

where is the pocket castle? i want a load of black dragons as well, currently only level 9 and not been outside the starting bit..dunno if i will be able to use sacrifice tho, im a warrior.

Dwarven king sells it.

Gremlins castle is selling in the Dwarwen King's castle (maybe after completion his quest)

There is both a black dragon and red dragon den at the undead lands in my game. Have you searched all of the map?

Sacrifice cannot target Black Dragons, or do you somehow mean Sacrifice on the dragon egg?

Ahhhh ha, I did find the Black Dragon Den. 50 Black Dragons at 15,000 a piece. Here it is:

Black Dragons are the ONLY monsters in game that CANT be restocked via Sacrafice. They are immune to magic.
Maybe Armageddon works on them but im not sure.

On your map, the fogged area, red dragons are there.

Anyway, armaggedon do work on black dragons but with a reduced effect just like all offensive spells.

and FYI, across the bridge directly north of the Black Dragon den is the Red Dragon Den, with 50 Red's for sale. There's also a quest right near the Black Den which has you retrieve Red Eggs from nearby the Red Den, after which you can purchase even more Red and Bone Dragons from the questgiver.

My little army of dragons is complete, accented with a nice little squad of Shamans :)

Too bad there aren't White or Blue dragons...

Well considering how things are random in kings bounty chances are next time you'll encounter some other dragons.. or not nearly that many..

I hope so... one blue dragos is there already... and it is said that great plans are coming to us in the add-on :) so why not other types of dragons.. :-P

whats this about using sacrifice on eggs?? how do u do that?

Are black dragons worth it? They use so much leadership... I was just going to replace my 191 royal snakes with black dragons but I can only fit 4 of them... Not to mention they're immune to magic so I wouldn't be able to resurrect them if any die.

So are they worth it? For a mage? (Or for any other class?)

I found dragons to be difficult opponents but not so effective in my own army. The only place they really helped me was the final fight.

Oh, and heroes fans can tell you that having too many dragons is not a good thing:-P

Dragons aren't best IMO until you have very high leadership (like 15-20k). They are however very useful in the endgame (i.e. Haas' Labyrinth and Murock). Usually I stock up on Black, Red and Green dragons after completing Land of the Dead and Demonis. I would never use Bone Dragons though - they are terrible.

The final fight is VERY easy with dragons. ;)

They are OK, as long as you don't use them on Demonis (since their attack is fire).
