Bf109 Tutorials [VIDEO]
Yea theres a tonne of these videos but there are many ways to skin a cat! I was going to make videos like these when the sim first came out but I expected some changes in the flight models so I put it off and put it off.
Anyway with little or no documentation we cant have enough community made tutorials right? Watch in full sceen and HD for the best viewing. Click the video title in white in the window to go to youtube for full screen. Just the basics for now. Enjoy. http://sowc.forumotion.co.uk/t115-bf109-tutorials-video |
Great thanks!... I still haven't figured out what I was doing wrong with the motor. Popping sounds and black puffs of smoke in external view, maybe the video has the answer:grin:

Excellent videos, Farber!

Good job!
And now bring on the G.50 :) It's the most fun to fly plane for me at the moment (online on ATAG). You have to know ALL the tricks to stay alive. Maybe you got some.. :D |
G50? Fly about 5 metres off the ground to avoid AA/A, enemy fighters and birds... Hover around enemy airfields to engage planes taking off or landing to even the odds. Ensure you have the all brown skin without the white cross on the tail and pretend you are a Hurricane until your moment to strike! Kill spitfire pilots by flying so slow they fall out of the air trying to stay behind you. Avoid Bf109 drivers who will assume you are a hurricane and attack you...
The was a reason the Italians only engaged in one days fighting in the Battle of Britian... |
nice vids cheers.
i also like comments about g50 lol |
I remember myself being engaged by two hurricanes and downing both of them ;)
Anyhow you think about it, there is nothing like a Pizza fighter to warp around over confident RAF flyer. Funny how this looks like what has happened in 40 ;) |
Great vids!! :D
|
great work farber
|
Up loading a new one now! - How not to land the 109 :-P just for fun!
Same link. ;) |
Be carefully farber if your staffelkapitän see you you might be punished ;-)

Never thought of approach like that. Must try next time I get online. |
Good videos! Thanks!
Never know if you show me how to work that pitch control I might be tempted to fly for the dark side! Cheers! |
nice job buddy
love to see that some people have still passion with the game |

Im building upto the pitch but it is the most important part so I am going in gradually piece by piece ;) putting up a new one now about getting the top speed out of the 109, then Ill make another one (maybe) today about climbing and diving. Once you have all these pieces in your head and have practiced each one, you will be at home in the 109. Edit: Set out to do a video on climbing and diving but Im trying to keep the video length small and bite size, so I eneded up with a sustained climb video instead... :( Im finding out some small things I never really thought about before flying the 109 making thses vids so thats pretty cool too. |
Pitch would be another nice addition to your thread, nice going so far:cool:. I think if new people understand pitch then they might fly enjoy the E3 or the E1. You really can do a lot when it is manual control, it's kind of enjoyable.:-P

Dont you see, I am already teaching the pitch  Once you can walk, you can then begin to learn to run... :-P Only by practiscing the basics can you master the advanced methods... To simply watch and understand is not to experience and to learn...... http://t0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:A...M7fNK7Ied1mz0S |
OK Skoshi Tiger,
Just for you: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sLFl3...ature=youtu.be It was looking a little jerky in movie maker but it seems to have compiled well and seems smooth. Hope it helps. ;) |
That was really good! it's always nice to have a reason to make some popcorn :-P should be very handy for someone looking for tips... I'm not sure, but it seems to me that one of the past patches, made the engine a bit more durable. I was doing damage even on takeoffs, prior to that. I began taking off W/full tank of fuel at only 70% throttle as a cure. Kind of a habit now so I still use that setting. I even put a reflective strip of tape on my throttle, as a sight aid, because I dislike looking at those on-screen indicator stick figures, and hated the damage even more. So I'll be standing by, waiting for the next feature film, wing man AI discipline measures, please please.
point of red at 70% position http://i51.photobucket.com/albums/f3...psf1699a40.jpg |
Whats the string arrangement on the throttle for ?
|
Yes your right, applying boost on take off used to kill the engine, so did using boost at the top of a climb. I believe the boost should actually be a gate like on the spit and we should have to control it ourselves but 1c:MG is looking after us. :-P
If you mean AI wingman - I wouldn't know where to start but Ill try and get some wingman basics with my real wingman though ;) |

Hey Ivan, those strings have them there a long time. Were meant to keep my son from knocking it to the floor. And the cable jacket acts as a friction, because I use the mini stick to look around with. |
Very nice vids farber. You could perhaps videos now to show how to fight and how to escape a firing spit on your six for example ( of course if that don't disturb you).

Now I wont be scared of jumping into a blue fighter to even up teams! Cheers! |
|
How do you get your gun sight to stay centred like that? do you have head shake turned off? my gun sight is all over the place with 6 dot tracking and i wish i could just turn off 6 dot tracking :( . i use track IR
|
Duck and move to the left and centre TrackIR5 with F12 :-P
|
How do we perform a leveled (no altitude drop) standard turn in a Bf109?
With the help of the rudder, to hold the slipball in the middle (and maybe accelerate engine)? Or with the help of pulling the stick(elevator) and acceleration of engine, which is teached from majority of pilot instructors? |
