Mixture Control

Just thought I would blow the dust off CloD and go for a spin. Went to adjust the mixture in a Spit and the control won't budge. I've got CEM checked and throttle, radiator and everything else works but not the mixture. Am I doing something wrong besides trying to play this thing? ;)

Try throttling up. Not sure if it's correct or not, but in some British aircraft (only the spit if I remember correctly, but could be wrong) you can't move the mixture lever beyond the throttle, so if throttle is low, mixture is low. If you put the mixture up then throttle back it doesn't force the lever back though.

Hope that helps!

I think thats only in the Hurricane and Tiger Moth.

Ahhh, tis that yeah.

Just went and tried the Spit, for me, even with an axis assigned, mixture is either 100% or 0%. Seems it's only a two way thing, either fully off or on. The lever only moves from 0% if I put it all the way up, then it jumps straight to 100%. Doesn't do that in other aircraft so it must just be the Spit.

Must be dusty on your house considering it was only a couple of weeks ago you said you were not playing it...

In that Spit the mixture is either auto rich or auto lean. You don't control mixture manually.

I played it for 3.5 minutes today and that's how long it took to realize that I was wasting my time. Back to ROF.

I have also found that you sometimes need to restart before realism option changes take effect.

Good luck, have fun! :-P

I can only change it to 100% or 0% not inbetween...

Do you know that the Spitfire mixture control is modelled backwards at the moment? It shuld be back for Rich and Forward for Lean but its the wrong way round - devs know. The Hurricane is correct (Rich=back) and until the FMs are fixed it is far and away the better RAF aircraft. With the 109 FM also not being correct (also being worked on) the Hurri versus 109 is about the closest we have to SpitI vs 109. Try it.

With liberties and my apologies to Rogers & Hammerstein (if not Julie Andrews)... all I can say in regards to your predicament is:

Regretfully they tell us,
But firmly they compel us
To say goodby to you.

So long, farewell, Auf wiedersehen, good night
