Screenies with newest October5 patch & fix:
I think there has been a big improvement with newest additions...probably what the sim should have been when it was first released...Oh well I'm happy to be along for the ride even with lower FPS than I'd desire...It is beautiful & here are the proofs:

THE ju88
has no glass to the canopy nice screens though the only good that you can do with this sim;) |
i would post those pics of the HE and the JU with the missing glass sections in the bug thread.
|
Here are a couple more from the same series...this may have just been a sort of instant glitch that went away in the next frame- I'm not sure...

this glass problem exist to me as well
you are not the only one:rolleyes: |
The first pic is outstanding!
|
Is just reflections , the glass is there.

invisible prop blades is just wrong. if anyone thinks that looks real, just google plane taking off and watch the video. it doesn't look like that at all.
|
infamous anti epilepsy-filter strikes again.
I also have invisable props and in Multiplayer all the FW200 I shot down had no prp spinning. lol unfortunatly the state of the game im unable to provide screen shots and the Cliff of Dover screen shot folder is gone. |
I like the new propellor caps colour on the ju88

A propeller rotating at 2500-3000 rpm is practically invisible. That's why the tips of some were painted in order to allow them to stand out. |
Ding ding ding! Winner!
|
Some people here have too much education from video and movies, not enough from real life.
|
the currently propeller looks great to me
|
Did you check to turn off epilepsy filter in the conf.ini?
Just add EpilepsyFilter=0 below [BOB] It brings back a bit of propeller and also a tiny but the reflexions in the dials. The prop seems fine to me. Could be a bit more visible and also the reflexions could be a bit stronger. It is a while ago that I have been on an airshow but I do think one can see the prop disk but perhaps I remember wrong. The yellow tips were not everywhere implemented and probably just an additional security thing. Mh. thinking about it the fact that the tips were actually painted is a good indicator that the propdisk could have been seen at least at ground handling rpm. Otherwise it would have made no sense to paint them there as one could not have seen them ... |
these are screenshots. there are no blades in the image. just a circle of pixels with slightly lighter shade than background. go ahead and live your yellow stripe invisibility fantasy. yes, I've been in a prop plane before. it got off the ground because it had blades on the prop instead of a halo.:-P

Unfortunately, it seems not a unique characteristic of our 1C, CoD forum mates - but all too common everywhere on the planet. It's become an unreasonable expectation to require that people interact a great deal with the outside world. S! Gunny |

The best ones are those that send some link to a Youtube clip of a Spit taking off to prove their case ;) Sigh... |
Well, this video proves beyond doubt you can see the prop/rotor, with no disk at all!

Ha!.. good one, and just proves why you should never trust videos or pics to base all of your assumptions on..
|
oh yeah, we're back to the 'propeller disc' issue again! Hooray, the world should be infinitely grateful to you!
|
|
This. RPM is 0 and harry potter style prop.

the tip of the needle is below the 1600 hash mark. so it is either at idle or the engine is off. either way, you should see a prop.
let's face the music. they probably don't know how to model the aerodynamic forces on the prop with dynamic weather. that knowledge probably left with oleg when he got on the train. so they made up this epilepsy filter to cover for it. pretty sad considering this is a prop sim.:(:!: |
i had just landed so the engine was idle if i remember right
are those tiles new? |

So what about the deaf people? They can't hear the engine when they play the game. In the old game you could just look at the prop and get an idea to adjust the prop pitch. Now you can not. For $8 million dollars you get hardly any prop visuals and deaf gamers can't figure out what the hell is going on with the prop pitch because of the selfish and self centered epileptics who ruined it. |
mmmm... nuh, you're wrong... spinning props are translucent (clear) just like the fans in your computer case (some of which rpm @ much lower than 1600) ;)
|
um no. your wrong too. looking at a house fan right now that spins faster than that. can see it fine. maybe that's why some can play this stutterfest game. bad vision.
|
just out of curiosity how much time have you spent on a flight line?

There is simply no way any of you are ever going to convince me that a huge propeller spinning at idle speed (~800 rpm) is going to look like that spitfire image. I have house fans that are spinning much faster and I can see much better than that image. I go outside, start my truck at idle ~800 rpm. Open up the hood and see the water pump fan running off the drive shaft. It is not invisible. I see a helicopter flying overhead my house. They are not invisible like that image. I toggle my weedeater with bright green nylon line and spins up to 10 times that (~8000 rpm). I understand translucent effect from this example quite well. So these are my last words in this thread. I think I've made my point about this particular bug. Go ahead and live your harry potter invisibility cloak yellow stripe epileptic train left the station fantasy.
|
nuh... you're still wrong - it is seen through, not a solid object
let us all know how your "hollywood" props go, eh... |
But, I can always comment on a different subject.
Freetrack, way better than TrackIR.;) Goodnight. |
my eye see different than your eyes see, see?

you're wrong there too :) |

Don't take what you see on video as necessarily being a correct representation of what you would see with the naked eye. |

Glad the issue is closed. EDIT: Besides, I thought this was a screenshot thread! http://img577.imageshack.us/img577/2...1009231233.png http://img824.imageshack.us/img824/3...1009231559.png http://img195.imageshack.us/img195/4...1009231618.png http://img560.imageshack.us/img560/7...1009231701.png |
