Men of War: Condemned Heroes in Development

1C Company is excited to announce the development of Men of War: Condemned Heroes - the newest installment in the best-selling Men of War series which fuses tactical thinking with the action-packed direct control mode.

Men of War: Condemned Heroes tells the story of one of the infamous Soviet penal battalions during the WWII. These battalions are famous for being formed under Stalin’s “No step back!” order #227. They consisted of court-martialed officers that were given a chance to redeem their crimes, or incompetence, in blood by serving as the lowest enlisted rank in a battalion that was assigned the most dangerous tasks. These battalions’ images are surrounded by many myths, and this game tells the truth about these regiments based on real evidence from their former members.

Take command of one of these notorious companies and lead it to victory against all odds through most of the war on the Eastern front. Fight from desperate battles in 1942 in the area of Volyn in the Ukraine, to the massive operation “Bagration” in the Brest area, Magnush bridgehead and Warsaw area in Poland and finally to attacks on the German Altdam and Stettin near the end of the war.

Key features:
• Ultimate singleplayer experience – 4 campaigns consisting of 15 missions telling the story of the penal company from crucial 1942 to victorious 1945.
• Truth about Soviet penal battalions from their former members.
• New ultra-detailed photorealistic human models, faces and uniforms.
• A comprehensive encyclopedia describing the structure of penal battalions and their operations.

Couldn't ask for better than that. Very exciting stuff. Thanks!

Good news. It's another set of 15 missions. Hopefully we can see Skirmish mode as customized game someday.

s8man888 07-12-2011 05:58 PM

I really like the single player campaigns of the Men of War series, I can't wait for some more.

Lancer 07-13-2011 10:30 PM

Rejoice ! Rejoice ! More of the best games ever ! MOW rules !:-P

BM. 07-21-2011 03:11 PM

Will there be multiplayer? It'll be pretty dissapointing if it's another Red Tide. The best thing about the first one was the co-op.

roptor90 07-25-2011 03:39 PM

We want photo-realistic vehicles too !!

I prefer quality over quantity... I hope we will see TOW-like vehicles someday.

MOW: Condemned Heroes

Will MOW: Condemned Heroes have big assaults with AI allies like FOW, commando type levels like SHOWW2 or both? (I'd prefer the former but I know there's loads of people who will diagree with me!:) )

I'm sure that will be dealt with in the upcoming patch for MOW:AS (hopefully...)

So having made a costly mistake in assuming that Viet Nam was a follow up of the Assault Squad MoW game type, may I safely assume that this one is? Because I far far prefer the AS version of the game over the others.
I would also love to see a lot more of coop skirmish modes available. The only downfall of AS is that this mode is the ugly sister of all of them, and it doesn't get a lot of attention, so there are not enough maps.

The Condemned Heroes is a single player oriented game. It's much closer to Red Tide, then to AS.

Thanks- I won't be buying that one then. Would love to see 1C develop a game that embraces and focuses on the coop skirmish modes, with lots of maps. Does nyone make maps that can be added into AS by any chance?

Why you don't go and ask the digitalmindsoft forum about Assault Squad and follow the Dev in that forum if you like Assault Squad so much. as they are some of us who are happy with 1C job with single player.

what 1c made with Vietnam are for the die hard fans an not for the new comer to this Series.

Jason 01-01-2012 08:48 AM

Who is developing Men of War: Condemned Heroes? The Men of War series has had a lot of different developers so far. Why so many?

it068 01-01-2012 09:29 AM

1c is developing this game. I suppose it has so many developers because then more game in the sieries can be released.

Mihao 01-05-2012 09:38 PM

Awsome! I can't wait. Some other details? Eg. release date?

it068 01-06-2012 03:07 PM

According to the website 'zaavi' It is the 24th Feb
Here's the website: http://www.zavvi.com/games/platforms.../10572558.html

Mihao 01-07-2012 07:36 PM

Thanks for the rep! I will sure go for preorder when it's available.
BTW: 1C Company guys, don't listen to all the people who tells you that making so many games about II WW is wasting of time, boring, etc etc. Your games are great, every time you add sth more and new, and I spent a lot of time playing them via LAN with my friends, thanks to new maps in all these DLCs.
Just 1 small tip for future, maybe you will use it: You could add more privileges for engineers units, such as: digging small trenches, building small bunkers or sandbags-protected fire positions (more than now). Also snipers should be able to dig something small for them to hide, now they stay rather unprotected once they're spotted.

Sorry but Ive played all the MOW titles and I couldnt wait for vietnam. Its one of my favourite eras for games. And that game was just terrible. The multiplayer was non exisistant and there were so many faults with the gameplay style. It really ruined the reputation of the series IMO.

I don't believe it ruined the reputation because the game was not promoted or hyped at all. Noone bought it. And the multiplayer is littered with errors, among other bullshit such as only 2 playable factions.
1C Company could have done itself a favour by building off of the Assault Squad engine, and multiplayer system. As usual, they didn't, and caused big irritation to the fanbase as usual.

Mihao 01-08-2012 01:00 PM

I think that a real fan should support its idol - in this case the game we are telking about, not to criticize it all the time. I think it's possible to say what could be changed in it, but fans shouldn't to say: "this game is hopeless, they all done wrong, they should change this and that, how could they have such a stupid ideas" etc. I appreciate very much that this series exists and - although it can always be better - I'm far away of saying that eg. MoW: VN is a bad game. Fighting in a VN jungle was a big challenge there, and they done it quite well. Btw: I bought the game, so don't say no one did. :)

ChrisG 01-17-2012 06:31 PM

Any news on this one??Screenshots,videos.
A more detailed description about it??

Gary_P 01-27-2012 04:21 PM

YES! I just discovered the game. I bought the entire suite over at Steam.

Buzard the 2nd 01-28-2012 11:31 AM

Censored!!!

Wow,,

Banned from a forum for expressing my opinion,, is this how you guys work then?

I didnt swear, i was not directly abusive and as far as i can see didn't break any of your rules at all,, yet you delete my post and ban me completely forever with no warning of violation!

It says in your rules, you can ban anybody for no reason,, ok fair enough,, but how good do you look banning somebody simply for expressing an opinion?

Maybe i was right and i did actually raise a point that makes most of the "Men Of War" games look less appealing.

You said that Condemned Heroes was gonna be more like "Red Tide" right?

Well when i found out "Red Tide" wasn't even coop supported i didn't buy it,,, for me these things are buying per-requisite number 1!

My last post was supposed to be addressing the fact that you guys (the devs) seem to ignore half you your fan-base on here,,, the ones that are screaming out for Skirmish modes and so on,, why is this? all you ever do is say,, "go and play Assault Squad" or, "the other games do not need those modes",,,, without giving a good reason why.

If you really care about your potential buyers then,, please reconsider versatile content,, putting in Skirmish modes for single and multiplayer would be a great place to start!!,, you will appeal to a wider demographic of gamers,, there is no reason why you could not add this to your games.

Peace!

So still question have not been answered.... First MoW was and still is great because you can play all missions in coop with friends. So I will ask, will Condemned Heroes allow coop?

According to the latest information co-op won't be available in Condemned Heroes.

kane1 02-29-2012 06:34 PM

Sounds like another Love/Hate relationship is in my future. I can't wait!!

djsatane 04-06-2012 12:24 AM

No coop? wow what a shame, not sure who was in charge of production and development of this game but for it not to have coop its terrible in my view.

Hopefully they will allow modding the game as it will be quite simple to make it coop compatible with some work, I bet people will support for the campaign to be playable in coop. Disregarding online gaming nowdays is not wise choice, and having coop in mow games is not that hard.

I love MoW series and purchase everything related to it but at this point I will have to wait before pre order or purchase until more is known regarding coop and possible modding possiblity.

kenjara 04-09-2012 08:44 PM

I am looking forward to this and have pre ordered on steam. I come here trying to clarifiy what multiplayer it contains as Steam clearly states the game has multiplayer on the store page.

So am I right in assuming this is a mistake I find it hard to believe no one has noticed it yet?

It does not make too much difference to me as I was hoping it would be like red tide, but multiplayer would be nice.

djsatane 04-10-2012 07:55 AM

multiplayer is just vs, based on what i have seen there is no coop.

Cool if that is correct I am happy. Not too fussed about coop but skirmish is always fun.

Leapchild 04-10-2012 03:23 PM

The one thing that made Men of War great was the coop.

Red Tide was a complete failure compared to MOW because it did not feature coop and now you're just gonna make the same mistake again?

Coop is what made the first game popular so the series is basically centered around coop and you decide to make a game completely without any kind of coop? It's like if Valve would make Left 4 Dead 3 without any kind of coop and just singleplayer bots.

90% of the community wanted coop and you didn't listen. I hope you go bankrupt.

jcopp 04-11-2012 05:59 PM

co-op

Developers!! PLEASE listen to this guy - co-op is essential! I can personally sell you 5-6 copies of this game if its co-op. Read below and listen to what he is saying. Except the bankrupt part.
