Looking great! It's a shame that the weathering is a little heavy to start with which is hard to fix. You've been doing a great job though!
|
Nice skin for starters Chris, thanks, but I know you've got more up ya sleeve;)
The Bob Tuck skin is a beauty mate,I love the weathering the old Spit's and Hurri's have, look in any old BOB book and you'll see this is how they were.Partly because pilots obviously had to clamber aboard in a hurry,so around the cockpit/wing area they were really roughed up,many down to bare metal. Top notch skins boys, keep em coming,I look forward to coming on here every night just to grab the latest skins. |

Lovely work Chris and cool to see Dave's OV-S back in the air again. Most of EAF are struggling with Clod's, but we have a cracking Normandy 44 SE running on il2 if either of you are interested (Thursdays).

Would love to see a John Dundas Mk1a Spit in your collection mate,I think his serial Number was X4586 and tactical number PR O or at least it was when he shot down Helmut Wick. |
I'd love to have a good skin of Spitfire Mk Ia P9323 ZD-F flown by Sgt AWP Spears of No 222 Sqn considering that I am also an A. Spears. Please and thank you very much! Your Spit skins are top notch, Kristorf.

Last one for a while,
Hurricane MkI P6684/RF-F 303 (Polish) Sqn, Northolt, Sept 1940 The 126 on the side was the final 'score' for 303 during the campaign period, although by Oct the score had gone to 140. Post war re-checking however dropped the tally by 44 due to 'overclaims' http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...torf/RF-F1.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...torf/RF-F2.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...torf/RF-F3.jpg http://s2.postimage.org/df5b4pdo7/Hu...Sqn_Sept_1.jpg upload pngpng |
Beautiful, thanks chris. What art package do you use? I use to skin a long time ago with Paintshop pro 7 but would like to get back into it.
|
Matt,
Cheers mate (I could do QV-J for you in a couple of weeks if you want, real life issues to sort for a few weeks) I use Photoshop CS4 at the moment, took some time but I am used to it now, leaves Paintshop pro 7 standing |
Lovely stuff Kris, that Polish skins a stunner!

WOW Chris,

Kristorf plaese this one too.

Really lovely work Kris, I'm really into flying the Hurri bus right now. Are you flying online much?
Been checking out CS5 but its a bit pricey right now, I'll have to look around. I remember how much time is involved in creating a skin back then I was using yours and others layers so appreciate these skins even more. Would love a QV-J Armagh, but I'm being very cheeky :) |
Absolutely amazing work, wish i could do skins like that, unluckely im totally useless with photoshop:confused: if you ever get some time i would be so happy if you did one for me
Cheers Forca |

Just another beautiful bird.
Thanks again!! S! |
Lovely job mate, lovely story aswel and what a fantastic restoration job.
Cheers Kris. Cheese |
Superb job Chris as always, looks so much better than the stock skins, that scorching across the wings from the guns is brilliant, hope you sort your 'weathering problem' out soon.

Awsome skins as we have all come to expect You keep setting the Bar higher[Damn You] Re: Chipping.. I really like the Hardcoded Internals and Lines Much more user Freindly BUT currently not working properly for Me as they are appearing Pre-Weathered by Default for some reason and I cant change. I noticed that on Your Spitfire Skins posted in the first few pages here, that the lines are clear BUT this one is Weathered by Default. Could this be due to Auto Updating [Steam] ? I even Patched Manually to Beta Patch to see if this would Cure, but no Joy:rolleyes: Any Suggestions would be very much Appreciated. Regards Keith:grin: |
The problem is "by design".
v1.02.14821 Release Patch notes state "Reworked Spitfire visuals". This is the weathering & paint chipping you cannot turn off. http://forum.1cpublishing.eu/showpos...23&postcount=1 |
Right gents, did a 'generic' Beaufighter, one unmarked and one with markings circa 1940

Lovely stuff mate.. have you done this before? lol!
|
Amazing detail on the skin..even in WIP.
(Wonder how the 320 (Dutch) Squadron in CoD will look. After the Fokker TVIIIW/G floatplanes, they used the Avro Anson Mk.I from Aug 1940 till Jul 1941) |
Hi Kristoff, now you've got use to skinning in Clod, what do you think of the way skins are done, compared to il2?
|
Wow Chris, you are cooking mate, superb Beaufighter skins and Anson in WIP.
|
Bloody amazing mate Looking good my fellow No1 Sqaudron Tangmere Pilot
http://www.tangmerepilots.co.uk/ Cheese |
@ Cheese.. are you in I Para?
|
Quote:
Cheese is in No1 Sqn Tangmere Pilots (as am I), but he was indeed a crap hat in a previous life |
NOW NOW Kris lets not go down this rd a :)
No Trooper i was in 2 and i left in 2000 after 8 yrs service, but The old boy is right,we do fly together in Tangmere Pilots, and what a fine band of men they are too(with some absolutely stonking campaign missions). And what would anyone say who had the honour of wearing the Maroon Beret say,who is a crap hat? anyone who couldnt make the grade. But i dont genuinly lower myself to that sort of inter service rivalry, apart from anyone who rode about on horses looking good for the Queen,a Kris. Cheese XXX |
Bit more on it, multi engined Bomber trainer http://s3.postimage.org/50jb1ne27/Anson_4.jpg psd upload http://s3.postimage.org/50jcp6qk9/Anson_5.jpg upload images |
Hahaha.. you two, now stop it.. I don't want to get caught in the middle here as I've done a bit of both sides, lol.. spent time on tanks and the donkeys before earning my maroon lid..
Make sure you both kiss and make up please.. By the way, the Anson looks great Chris.. I always think they didn't finish the tail when I look at that old crate! |
Always mate :)
and Kris its looking "alright"you git :) Cheese |
We are being nice to each other, pink is Cheee's favourite colour don't ya know...
|
lol.. I'm totaly sure you meant to say 'maroon' mate.. but somehow the P word slipped out.
I've seen naafi bars get wrecked after comments like that.. :) |
Hi Chris,
Any chance of generic skins for spit like you've done with hurri and beau? Hope you and family are well. Great work as always. |
Three Avro Ansons, none have markings as for these in-game are OK at the moment.
