New Objects Wishlist
More Balloons: Unless there is some reason why they shouldn't exist, it would be useful to have:
Barrage Balloon 100 m - To represent barrage balloons just being launched or which have been hauled down, as shown here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:N...upply_edit.jpg Barrage Balloon 300m - representing very low-flying balloons, as was sometimes used to counter V-1 attacks. Barrage Balloon 900m, 1500m & 1800m - to fit in at 300 m intervals between existing barrage balloon objects. Of course, what would be really convenient is the ability to set the altitude of Barrage Balloons in the FMB, at any altitude between 0-2400m. Observation balloons at higher altitudes - 300 m, 600 m, 900 m, 1200m, 1500 m, 1800m, 2400m. Assuming observation balloon doctrine was the same during WW2 as it was during WW1, observation balloons usually operated between 1,000-1,500 m and could go higher (about as high as WW2 barrage balloons). If you wanted to get fancy, a winch truck object could be added to the base of the barrage balloon or observation balloon objects, with the option of hauling the balloons down under certain circumstances. During WW1, the rate of descent was normally 2-3m, but up to 10 m/second in an emergency. |
Medierranean Theater
Anything British and Italian. We have a great Med map now, all that's lacking is the British and Italian objects. Well, armor wise we are good, but ships, artillery, vehicles. Any of that would be greatly appreciated.

We need updated ships and landing craft, half sunken ships etc,or import ship pack 2 objects from havoc mod community. Also more airfield items, bomb trolleys, fire carts trucks etc, again much of this exists in mod community.

I would love to see more British and German ships: destroyers, cruisers, corvettes and torpedoboats.

I'd like to add my voice for more Ships also :).
Would particularly love to have: USS Ranger (CV-4) aircraft carrier British Town-class cruiser British S-class destroyer |
Cameras attached to convoys, tanks, etc! Oh and grass! With the option to turn it on/off to keep the peeps running 14 year old hardware happy :D

For the Channel Map:
Floating Luftwaffe Airman - Luftwaffe Airman in Inflatable Raft - Floating RAF Airman RAF Airman in Inflatable Raft Floating USAAF Airman in Winter Dress USAAF Airman in Winter Dress in Inflatable Raft Large USAAF Inflatable Raft with multiple downed aircrew "Ski-shaped" V-1 preparation bunkers Concrete V-1 launch ramp https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikiped...l_Ski_Site.jpg Walled Norman farmhouse complex - this would save a lot of time populating the map and would make the Normandy sections look a lot better. https://encrypted-tbn2.gstatic.com/i...7U5A5jB-gLUbug (also see the farmhouse in the background in the illustration of the V-1 site) French site with pictures of preserved V-1 launch site at Douval Val Ygot: http://www.jean-maridor.org/francais/ardouval.htm Norman "Bocage" Hedgerow - basically, big earth embankments with trees on top. These provided serious cover for the German defenders and made attempts to land (or crash land) in Norman fields quite tricky, even ignoring all the other anti-landing devices. https://theoldtopographer.files.word...file.gif?w=584 Norman Bocage Hedgerow with breach caused by "Rhino" tank fitted with Cullin device: https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikiped...inhedgerow.png "Rommel's Asparagus" - poles set into the ground with wires stretched between them as anti-glider measures and poles driven into the invasion beaches at an angle and topped with anti-vehicle mines. Extremely common defenses in Normandy in 1944. For simplicity, these could be made as "patches" of poles which could be placed quickly. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rommel%27s_asparagus Thames Estuary AAA Forts - These were serious deterrents to late-war German raiders attacking London or shipping in the estuary. http://www.bobleroi.co.uk/ScrapBook/...GreatNore.html Luftwaffe Rescue Buoy - These were deployed along the French coast during and after the Battle of Britain. They were commonly used by downed airmen on both sides, and were checked on a regular basis by both British MTB and German E-boots. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rescue_buoy_(Luftwaffe) RAF ASR-4 Rescue Buoy - These were converted launches which were moored along the coast along typical flight paths of Allied aircraft. They were first deployed in 1941-42. http://www.undiscoveredscotland.co.u...ages/asr10.jpg http://www.scubadolphins.org.uk/imag...Write%20Up.pdf Various lightships, beacons and buoys. There were many of these during WW2, and they were used as navigation aids by both sides - at least during the day. At night, they were either blacked out, or just had low intensity direction lights visible. Lighthouses were also used as observation posts. http://www.shippingwondersoftheworld.com/part4.html Railway Marshaling Yard Objects, such as Round Houses, Engine Repair Sheds, Yard Towers, and Railroad Spurs. French Marshaling Yards were sites of some of the most intense bombing attacks of the war in the months prior to D-Day. Likewise, Allied aircraft devastated Italy's marshaling yards. On any front, they were natural targets for tactical bombers and fighter bombers. http://www.translationdirectory.com/...o_Illinois.jpg Bomb storage bunkers Every airfield in the UK would have had one or more bunkers for storing bombs and other ordinance. The Luftwaffe had similar facilities but I haven't yet been able to find pictures. http://www.skydock.co.uk/facilities/...e-/index.phtml |
Not really an object but I would like to see Vichy France added as a playable nation if possible.

Additionally, it would be nice if South Africa, Rhodesia, Canada, and India were added to the list of British Commonwealth nations, since those countries operated independent formations during WW2, albeit under RAF overall command. They could use RAF insignia and squadron codes. Mostly, they could use UK or US voice packs, as appropriate, although adding a few regional "accented English" voices would make them seem more authentic. (English was the official language for all Commonwealth forces.) |
Also there is a need for British trucks and more airfield objects such as bomb trolleys, fire and fuel trucks, hucks starter trucks etc. Anything new in the way of ships etc.

My preference would be for the boats and smaller ships which were the natural prey of strike fighters and light bombers, but beggars can't be choosers. For land vehicles, I'm most interested in soft vehicles and guns which were used near the combat zone. More artillery pieces and prime movers - especially for US, UK, IT (although I'm surprised that the RSO and Stalinets prime movers aren't in the game). At least one distinctive truck for early war UK, late war UK (CMP would be a good choice), IT, and FR. Something else which would help is the ability for players to make skins for objects other than aircraft, which would allow things like theater or campaign-specific camouflage. |

I'd like to see some Air Plane Parts, Wings, Half bombers,
And a lot of smaller ships, Barges Higher sand bags, and walls of them for covering buildings. AAA gun towers http://i1099.photobucket.com/albums/...psjhxnqplx.png Higher sand bags, and walls of them for covering buildings. |
Desert objects, we have a Tobruk map but there are very few desert objects. Definitely need desert camo nets, and bllast pens, gun pits etc. Small pre made tent rows etc such as a 6 row etc. Currently there ar eno 25 pdr guns or tractors or british trucks at all. one can use bofors static guns but no heavy AA for british either. Also make the tropical filters show on desert maps for the hurricanes. And skins for the wellingtons to reflect desert camo.

Submarines for the following: Royal Navy, Imperial Japanese Navy, Regia Marina.
Any ships for the above as well. Artillery for British army, Italian army, AA guns as well. AAA for Americans the90mm M-1 |
I would like to have lights that illuminate nearby objects for those moody nighttime scenes. Searchlights do that but they are awkward to use and have to be activated by an enemy aircraft.
|
I would like to see convoys of ships.
It takes time to add individual ships, give them way points and coordinate their movements when building missions. But just like we have diffrent types of vehicle columns to add and give waypoint I would love to see convoy variants of this for ships. A group of mixed merchant/transport ships, preferably with variation so there are both escorted and unescorted convoys and diffrent sizes, that you could add just as easily as you do a vehicle column. A bonus would also be if you had a few formations to choose from just as you do with the aircrafts. |

Notice that there are no apertures for guns, and no return fire against the attacking plane, plus a roof which would vastly reduce field of fire for any AA gun mounted at the top of the tower. Also, the tower doesn't correspond to standard German AA tower designs. There's the chance that there was a German sniper or MG nest in that tower, but not a deliberately emplaced AAA defense. That said, there were and are many different patterns of brick or concrete water towers which dot the European landscape, some of them are over 100 years old. During WW2, they were common landmarks/waypoints as well as being targets of opportunity. So, adding a few different water tower patterns would be a nice addition to any Western European map. Quote:
I'd also like to see various industrial pipe sections, conveyor belts, industrial buildings etc. which could be used in a modular fashion to represent factory complexes which produce petroleum or chemical products (e.g., refineries, coal gasification plants, synthetic gas plants, chemical plants). These were common strategic targets during the war for both Allies and Axis. Possibly, there could be more distinctly Soviet factory objects, in particular the buildings which made up the Dzeshinsky Tractor Factory in Stalingrad. |

For distinctly British North African "soft" targets, I'd choose: Artillery, AT & AAA Guns 25 pdr howitzer (emplaced and en train) 2 pdr AT gun (emplaced and en train) 6 pdr AT gun (emplaced and en train) Bofors 40 mm AA gun (emplaced and en train) Trucks Quad field gun tractor (with and without en train guns) Austin K2 Ambulance Bedford OY truck (with and without en train guns) "Portee" mobile AT gun Bedford OY & 2 pdr AT gun "portee gun" |
