Controls working... sometimes

I've been experiencing this since the beginning but it seems that it's gotten worse after the patch.
On all planes that I tried so far (Stuka, G50, Hurricane, Spitfire) the controls work when they feel like working.

Hit keyboard key? sometimes it works, sometimes it doesnt.
Move a slider? sometimes it works, sometimes it doesnt.

Enabling or disabling Antopomorphic Control doesnt change anything.

My keyboards and game controllers work fine with other games.

same here
right the latest patch made it worse

All my controls work okay, except for my rudder. Z axis doesn't work (on two different joysticks) and even if I use the keyboard the rudder works only sometimes. :(

Yep same here.... really random.

This should be TOP of the priority to get fixed list.
Its hard enough being new to this game without thinking you are pressing the wrong keys when you are not.

I have experienced this now and again, when hitting f2 and then wanting to get back in to the cockpit and suddenly f1 does not work :(

I normally change the view i.e. another aircraft or hit f3 and then try cockpit view again and it suddenly works.

senseispcc 04-09-2011 02:06 PM

Sometimes the key "I" do not work to start engine, lucky for me it is when I am on the ground with my plane. ;)

Same thing here. Usually when playing a quick mission controls work at first, but they stop working after some flying. Sometimes I may be able to fly several minutes, sometimes just a couple of seconds.

When this losing of control happens game controllers no longer respond, some views still work (f2,f3) but I can't switch to cockpit view.

First I thought this would be about AI Control becoming active, but I have checked option
No AI Control.
and it seems it doesn't help.

I am experiencing the same problems with settings working with the joystick and keyboard. The stutters are down with the new patch but with the controls only working sometimes makes this game unplayable. I feel like we have stepped back in time to windows 95 days.:(

Please fix this next or all the rest will not matter.

just experienced the same here

schnorchel 04-10-2011 07:48 AM

:confused:similar things happen here. for example,
define the throttle slide on MS P2 as flap control axis and diffine G940's throttle as throttle
go into game,
throttle on G940 and the buttons work ok,
move the throttle slide on MS P2 to control the flap then the throttle on G940 and the buttons on it will not work anymore.:confused::confused:

Wolf_Rider 04-10-2011 09:02 AM

it doesn't appear to be just the control... video settings have anomolies as well.

there I was, playing around with video settings... Low ~ Medium ~ High ~ Very High, etc and sometimes tree were present, sometimes not... both with and without Cloud Sync

and yes, I had an instance of my stick not responding again

scissorss 04-10-2011 09:35 AM

Yeah just experienced a flight where my throttle decided to do as it pleased.. Seems to be fine now. *fingers crossed*

senobssorc 04-11-2011 05:37 AM

Has anyone heard of a fix for this or a response from 1C that it will be fixed? This is very frustrating.

OK, my bad. I said disabling antropomorphic control didnt change anything, I was wrong.
The problem seems to be antropomorphic control needs more fine tuning. Right now im able to control my plane as long as I keep antropomorphic controls *off* (realism settings, top-left square)

335th_GRAthos 04-11-2011 08:06 PM

If I remember well, there is somewhere officialy mentioned that there is a bug with anthropomorphic control activated that causes controls to freeze in some cases.

GOZR 04-11-2011 08:12 PM

True mine do freeze at times. .

JumpingHubert 04-11-2011 08:43 PM

the thrust of my hotas cougar sometimes doesn´t working. First time I thought it is motorfailure, but then i looked to gas ingame and the stick wasn´t moving.

BlackbusheFlyer 04-12-2011 02:24 PM

Definately a major and severe bug. I have posted in this thread about it. I conducted a 40 minute test flight, no opposition just to fly the aircraft and these issues soon reared up.

Still losing controls in patch 1.00.14072 -ARIL 15, so bump

Now found a way to cause this: when I press F8 which switches to external view, I cannot switch back to cockpit view anymore. Also lose controls at this point.

EDIT: and finally found the reason why this was happening: I had 2 key press definitions for External View: first was F8, the other one I had cleared but not deleted. Once I deleted this empty key definition, External view started working and switching to other views also after this. And controllers seem to work normally again.

senobssorc 04-17-2011 03:38 AM

April 15 Patch and controls still not working

Bump again. Frame rates are improved with new patch:grin: but we need a fix for the Controls problem.:( Please Help.

That anthromorphic control thing seems to be what was messing up my controls.

Flanker 04-24-2011 07:13 PM

i cant switch seats altho it is C by default. Sometimes i think my keyboard is broken BUT IT's NOT!!!!:-x:-x

Fenice_1965 04-24-2011 09:08 PM

Same problem for me. All controls ok in the options axis settings. I fly ..the throttle doesn't work in hurry, spit, and g 50. in 109 it seems to work.
