Apologies

For my behaviour when i was just playing in arcade, The more i think about it the more i realise just how petulant and arrogant i was.

Gilly 03-17-2010 10:40 AM

Very humble and dignified mate. If only more played with this attitude the gaming world would be a better place. I'm as guilty of doing this, sadly some players push the wrong buttons with me and the red mist decends.

Shadowcorp 03-17-2010 10:49 AM

i had a red mist moment with a fellow skullbreaker over a match in arcade, He has no left the skullbreakers claiming he will hunt me down! Listening to him reminded me how i had been; so sure of my "superiority" and not willing to take any criticism.
If you're reading this Eric good luck hunting me!

:)

I take people as I find them, I thought you were a dick initially because of the abuse I would get if I ever shot you down, I also avoided being in the same game as you for a couple of weeks because you were telling me I was 'lagging bad'. I asked around and nobody else said I was laggy so I realised that you were were probably just a bit too sensitive about being shot down. I even deliberatley didn't shoot you down one game and then targeted the hell out of you in the second game (no message in the first game, abuse in the second)
just to make sure it wasn't me.

I was very surprised when you apologised because I didn't expect it from you and simply for that reason I decided to let it go (that and the fact that most of my mates were in games that you were in and I wanted to be able to fly with them) you went up in my estimation.

I've said it before, you're good and you're gonna get targeted by others who want a bit of glory.

Be happy in the knowledge that you're one of the best.

I think its also to do with how serious we take the game.

I got to the point where if it was a big game I had to put my ipod on and get in the zone with some music. I got so zoned out I didnt realise I was shooting people down who were probably just flying for first time.

Now I am being rationed (grrr) I feel lot more chilled out on IL2. When I was on the other night and ended up in that realistic match with you and Ratman I initially got frustrated but then decided to go for a tour of the valleys when I figured out my beloved Spit 2 is a stalling crate in realistic

Anyway its all good, we know each other well enough now not to take offence to anything we do....that is unless you use rockets, then I just dont know :-)

The_Goalie_94 03-17-2010 03:04 PM

I got called an a**whole yesturday while playing Team Dogfight because i accedentally stole his kill (jag...shweder [something like that]) flew right in front of me, point blank. The dude relized i had a mic and appoligized. He was quite nice about it actually, he's saying the exact stuff you guys are saying now.

I think Winny said it once there is no such thing in IL2 as stealing kills, only shooting down someone that a fellow team member was taking too long to kill.
We have been playing the game since release day so can generally get the kill in 5-10 seconds of getting on someones tail but I guess some guys newer to the game will take a lot longer to get the kill shot. The problem is that all the time that guy is trying to get the kill, his target is a threat to the team so you may end up loosing that kill if he comes into the sites of another team mate

I've come across him (jag-whatever) before, he was slagging me off in the lobby because of my age (36), it was a 2v2, me and wookie and we won it in the last 2 seconds (most memorable TB I've had) that shut him up.

How can you steal a kill? They are either dead or alive. It's just petulance and spoilt kid speak.

hi dk have you got your elevators set at the right setting. i use the mkii in sim because it is the most stable of all the spits

Hi Brigg, I was using them both set to halfway. Any time I try an advanced manoeuvre it stalls. I can deal with that but I cant seem to get it out of the stall. Gilly said try guns but cant seem to get it working. I end up using G6 in realistic because it stalls so rarely.

Branko, rockets should be banned from aerial use. If one of these rocketeers can provide evidence of a plane being downed in ww2 by rocket fire I may reconsider that opinion

there is the problem. set your ailerons back to the top as they dont do anything then set your elevators 6 notches down from the top for all spits. these are the settings i use in sim. now she will fly fine.

good to know you dislike "ROCKETS" too !!!

If im able (bad eyesight) hitting small and fast moving fighter's just with my "TAIL TWINS"..... How come many fighter jockeys aint able to get me down with all their multiple gun's & cannons only ???

Shooting "ROCKETS" against a big and quite slow moving target like the B-17 is, that's nothing but cheap and very poor way to play !!!

Luftwaffe fighters used rockets against American bombers during WW11, they also dropped explosives on small parachutes!
Shame we don't have these on BOP!!:-P:-P:-P

I found this:
"As the war turned against Germany, Me-109Gs carried a variety of armament to counter the growing armadas of Allied bombers. One such weapon was the 210mm Nebelwerfer 42 rocket, two of which were mounted in Wfr.Gr.21 Dodel launchers under the wings of Me-109G-6/R2 Pulk Zerstörer ('formation destroyers'). Although inaccurate, the rockets were capable of throwing bomber groups into disarray. The Germans added two 20mm MG 151 cannons in Rüstsatz 6 underwing-mounted gondolas on the Me-109G-6/R6, and 30mm MG 108s on the Me-109G-6/U4. Although devastating against American bombers, the Kanonenboote ('gunboats'), as their pilots called them, were unable to outmaneuver or outrun the Allied fighter escorts."
http://www.historynet.com/messerschmitt-me-109.htm/2

These rocket pods were specifically designed for aerial use. The rockets in BoP are ground attack rockets.

The rockets in BOP are all fitted to Allied aircraft so are we talking blue on blue here?

A friend and former luftwaffe pilot flew those nothing but "DESPERATE ATTACKS" against HUGE BOMBER FORMATIONS well proctected by FIGHTER ESCORT. He told me, 1944 /1945 the luftwaffe has lost already many well trained fighter pilots. He and his few left comrades they could not get even near the BOMBER FORMATIONS anymore. For that reason they used rockets, to tear apart the formations but never ever against a lone plane !!!

LIKE WOOKIE SAID DELIVER A PROOF............... OTHERWISE ACT FAIR, THANKS !!!

As I stated no axis fighters in BOP have rockets of any description, so unless you are flying allied aircraft against each other this scenario should not arise. If you are flying allied aircraft against each other then where does history come into the equation?

It's a game man!!:-P:-P:-P

Wasn't offended at all, just pointing out that Branko is of the fairer sex!... And an awesome bomber pilot to boot!!
Real Boudica!!!

Hey, I thought I was an old timer around these parts but I'm starting to feel young. BoP seems to have a much older demographic than COD. Apart from haitch40 maybe. ;)
