I got an upate to my media player today and part of it was an updated youtube client. As a test I played through a couple of Cliffs of Dover videos (By Phobos???) on my 47" HD TV.

They were absolutely fantastic. At one stage my kids asked if they were real!

One of Olegs goals was to make CoD as photorealistic as possible for a CFS.

He succeeded as far as I'm concerned.

Cheers! :)

Notoced while playing the Stuka third party campaign.Campaigns sort of force me to fly all the way home regardless.Anyway I picked up a bit of flak or sharpnel, over target which killed or wounded ( well he did look dead) over target.Streaming petrol ,I decided not to linger over target & managed to join in with my mates for cross Channel return- we were harried by quite a few Spitfires across the moat, but somehow landed at the correct aerodrome.Taxied over to an interseting part of the field & parked. Now the surprising part was what I spotted from exterior view:
http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d1...psd253d610.jpg
Yes I was leaking petrol...this was a new discovery to me...a nice little touch that endears me to the sim, although quite frankly the pilot( me) should have switched off & exited the aircraft briskly ( if only it was possible to exit the aircraft on the ground...sigh..)
More shots of this neatly populated part of the field( screenshots in CloD are difficult to resist aren't they?)

Very early one. 1.0.0.13820. But since i replaced the monitor last week, it's running pretty bad at my new native resolution: 2560x1440. :( I think my video card is dying, wich could be a curse and a blessing. :P

if you halve the resolution of your new monitor for CoD use, it might not look to bad (larger object pixels, but not more blurry ) and will run pretty well till you get an uber gfx card

spotting distant aircraft might also be easier as a bonus :)

hiya katdogz,

what version of the game are you running and what kind of settings ?

those screenshots look very good indeed, far horizon view with good detail, great object detail and no sign of distance-viewing bubble :)

your 4 gb gfx card would have a lot to do with it, but good for some of us to see how good it can look !

any sign of fpsec slowdowns or other problems on your system ?

Im running the most up to date final/patched version of the game using sweet fx Ceejay with Neutral6 settings (cudos to those fellas- mama mia)

I havent had any real slowdowns unless a mission maker gets overzealous and adds a 100 planes to a mission over London.

Also, i can sense a slowdown near clouds with a mix of planes, but nothing so drastic where its distracting. can still dogfight in/near clouds. pretty sweet

It was the temperature that worried me.
It's EVGA gtx590. EVGA has lifetime waranty. :) If my card dies, I'll send it back and they replace it. If they don't have my card anymore, they'll replace it with the next best one: GTX680. :)

But looks like it was a messed up driver that did it. I switched to the new beta and it works fine now.

"EVGA has lifetime warranty" do you recall when you bought the card. I think that policy has changed, atleast for me it has.

Jaws2002 02-01-2013 03:56 PM

I got it in April 2011 and it has life time waranty. I didn't know they changed the watanty:confused:.

I just loged in and checked the waranty for my card. It still carries "limited lifetime waranty". The products on their site now carry a 3 year waranty, tho. :(

No good thing lasts forever.

Yea ha ha, I didn't know what to expect landing but I did make it, takeoff will take a lot of concentration ...treacherous conditions there, you have to drop in at a very low speed. The terrain is bizarre, flat but yet bouncy with a bit of quick sand mixed in :-P...and its Northwest England

What kind of antialiasing were you using? That looks superb, in terms of smoothness.

I noticed that too earlier today after landing a 109.Zoomed in and the jaggies seemed to disappear.

Pilot Shadow.

I discovered that the shadow of the pilot occurs early in a mission but later disappears :!:

Here's a few more almost random shots.

The Ju 87 certainly has character. And some interesting DM for the Hurri.

larry,

did you place those vehicles on the road yourself ? or took a happy snap from a real moment in the game ?

i am trying to figure out how to write/script some AI routines for vehicles on the roads and trains. ideally i would like to set a number of buses on pre-scripted routes and have some civilian traffic driving on roads to bring the map alive. this is technically possible in the game and was planned for by MG, but there is no simple way to access these routines afaik so far

hallo zapatista,

i placed the vehicles in the full mission builder on the road. i took the "static vehicles" and put it near hawkinge. but all these vehicles you can let it drive around if you take the "driveable vehicles" and and put the waypoints to the roads. there will be e lot more alive in your personel scene.

Hi zap

This might be of interest to you for what you want to do. Instead of a crash/calling as trigger could have flying through a trigger. Instead of the ambulance it could be 10 buses. It is all possible wish that I was handy with the scripting, maybe ask Fearless for some tips
