Trees still cause major stuttering on low alltitude!

had trees on low to middle! THen they build up in front of you! When i have them on high the stutter is barely noticable! Fine with me XD

These drivers caused me problems in "ArmA 2 Iron Front", I went back to the 296.10 and all worked like a charm .... try that.

Tracers looks stunning now, thats very good.

But those shadows is flickering as allways, i got migrane when flying low, same is trees, they are shimmering like hell, higher altitude game is Stunning beutiful but in low, not anymore.

My initial observations:

I'm running mostly medium settings on a middle-of-the-road PC
i7 920 @ 2.7Ghz
Ati 4890 1Gb
3GB of RAM
Win7 64-bit

I cleared cache, installed, ran a quick mission and flew around for a couple of minutes to rebuild the cache, exited and restarted the sim.

It certainly seems smoother overall, even at lower altitudes. I didn't do any number crunching yet with FPS counters, but it feels fluid and nice.

The tracers are visible at longer ranges (ricochets were already in the sim, possibly from the start, but tracer view distance is much improved in this patch).

I found one bug: the bombsight view gives some weird artifacts on the part of the screen that is outside the aiming reticule/scope. Instead of being black (the "border" of the screen around the scope), it is light gray and clouds show through it. At one point, the sea was invisible and i could see the sea floor through the bombsight :-P

Finally, THE JU88 HAS A WORKING GYROCOMPASS!!! AWWWW YEAAAAHH
I tested it and the autopilots now work correctly (both modes). Later on i will test if the bombsight calculation algorithms are corrected as well, so that we can finally level bomb in it.

ATAG bomber flights during the weekend anyone ? ;)

Really?

In my quick test when watching FPS from inside cockpit, framerate inside a cloud was 50% or less compared to FPS outside the cloud.

2 things that I think are new: the way map looks and plane shadows against water surface.

Are you 100% sure? I've done a lot a missions just randomly shooting at the ground and I don't think I've ever seen a ricochet until this patch (I was flying the G.50), but that doesn't mean it wasn't there :)

Hm when i fly through clouds (just tested quick mission over France on very cloudy at 1500m) i get an initial fps drop of 40 percent but then the fps are going up again! Its ok now for me at least! What i dont like is that after ending the mission WIN 7 asked me if i wanted to change to Win basic color scheme because the system is low on memory!

I SMELL A MEMORY LEAK!
