Get the ProCilp if you can afford it. It has three LEDs which means the detection levels are set much lower than the passive reflector-on-a-hat so you won't suffer from ambient light problems. It clips onto the left hand side of the headband just above the earpiece.

I absolutly hate the ProClip. So I guess it depends on personal taste.

I hated it orginally as well but once I set it up properly I wouldn't go back to the other style. I find that ambient light doesn't interfere at all now. It's spot on.

I'm truly amazed. Why is that?

S!

Adds another wire I guess and it's construction is not the sturdiest one. I already had to use "super glue" to make the led "lever" stick etc. The wires I bundled with the headphone wires to a neat cable, so no real problem there. Wireless is not an option for me, in copper I trust! :D

Otherwise TrackClip Pro is a good thing, less interference with backlight as you can adjust the light filter so that only the tracking IR goes thru etc. After setting up TIR it is a breeze to use and sure helps. Feel handicapped without it and have noted I have tried to turn my head while watching videos..LOL!

Nope. You mistake weight for value :-P Of course FT is worth the weight of your webcam and IR emitter (if you have one) in gold.

Is the track clip pro worth the extra £20 in the bundle deals. Do you have 6dof because of the clip pro or do you have it anyway?

In my room I sit facing the side with the window and there is rarely much light coming in as the curtain is permanently drawn on that side of the room. I would describe the general lighting around my PC as adequate but it is never bright at any time of day with or without the light on (light is a few feet away at my 10 o clock). Does that sound like a situation where the clip pro would benefit most or not?

You have it anyway.

It really comes down to whether you want to wear a cap all the time, or a headset all the time.

So the actual movement quality is not much better with the track clip pro?

I can vouch for FaceTrackNoIR's awesomeness.

It's a great alternative to those who don't want to spend a bunch on TrackIR or want to try out the whole headtracking thing before purchasing hardware.

FaceTrackNoIR is freeware, requires only a webcam (PS3 Eye for best results), and a human(?) face.

Works great and smoothly once you dial your settings in.
