I do confirm it

It works at least till I get the application downloader and getting the serial in my mail (that's the step I am at)

I use ING bank and the home banking updates immediately so I've seen the "test" transaction instantly but... the transaction came in Romanian Currency so I had to cross finger that the convertor from RON to USD gave the same sum they expected... it did so the page switched from showing the price to showing the download links.

I have a steam account made here in Romania so I think it will work.

I'll post back.

OK... steam accepted the serial and now is downloading... although atm it says download paused... maybe it's doing maintenance or something...

adonys I'll contact you on PM... on our common language :)

Guys, just make sure you're adding the serial to a new sepparate Steam account made specially for this, to prevent messing up your main Steam account just in case (which should also allow you to eventually add the UBI version ot it, if UBI will ever provide an option for the ep filter, and won't damage the game graphics to pull the ep filter out).

You don't need that, just add the serial to the new Steam account, and you cna start download directly through Steam

My bank account displayed the transaction in the original currency it was made too, so it was simple for me.

@adyon
Well, receiving it as a gift is a thing, creating a fake account with fake infos is another one and in a forum told me you can't do this.

Well, when you (you as community) will be able to force english lang. and we all have the confirmation that it's a perfectly safe procedure also from other users, maybe i'll give it another chance :) Thanks anyway for your idea, hope this will work perfectly in the future!!;)

Is not about them, is about UBI's policy and the contract they've signed.

It seems a lot of people either haven't realized that fact yet or are just ignoring it.

you don't need any fake account, or fill it with fake info, to do this. it is perfectly legal to have more than one Steam accounts, and it's perfectly legal to add games from no matter what country to it.

I've opted to add the serial to a new account exactly to allow my main account still have a chance to get the english version if UBI will step back and offer the ep preventing measure as an option.

also, there won't be any other community, the il2 russian players can play with western il2, and viceversa.

i thought you need to create a russian account on steam, maybe i misunderstood :) Well,if you say so,i'll just wait for the translation to try this process. Thanks again for your support :)

I'm confident we'll find out how to turn on/force the english menu in the russian version pretty soon.

The account can not be banned, as there is nothing illegal in there. As someone said above, getting Steam games gifted from other countries is actually an official mechanism incorporated in Steam, and it works ok.

so you didnt achieve to play it in english yet?

MadBlaster 03-26-2011 11:47 AM

It sounds to me like if you ever want to play a russian, you have to do this. For only $14, I probably will. but not now, my eyes are tired. I feel a epi-spaz coming on from staring at this forum all day.

This all sounds very nice but i wont be buying it before we can translate it to English. I made this mistake before by buying DCS Blackshark in Russian and even though you could change the settings file and translate about half the game into English it was still unplayeble.

This should be a lesson in why they shouldn't have chosen ubisoft
