Myself, I am a man of science, chemist by trade. Being taught in the art of scientific study its impossible to believe something that cant be proven.
Science tell us if something is true should should be able to observe it or reproduce its results, religion can do neither.

I'm not saying that religion can be put into a test tube, neither can history. I Observe the results of faith in Christ all the time in changed lives and attitudes, but that's something that you would discount out of hand, the same way you discount the collection of largely historical documents that we now call the bible.

As for other religions, I can't say for most of the ones I've studied contradict what the Scriptures teach so I have to hold them as wrong if I believe the Bible to be right. I have no problem with those people who follow said religions (so long as they don't pose a physical threat) I just don't agree.

And, no I'm not a professional scientist. What I should probably have said is that I'm a man of reason, but I still stand by my statement.

Religious politics = as bad as i gets.

There was a vibrant Christian church long before the Romans got a hold of it, mate. I do have to agree that they made a mess of things. (with all due respect to today's Catholic believers, I just disagree with much of the "religious stuff")

The words that are accredited to Jesus however date back to within the lifetime of the people that knew Him, long before the established churches, and He was quite clear on who He thought He was. The only question is was He mad, lying or God?
