i got a feeling we get a betapatch today
I don't think because if it the developers were close to release an update we would have more "stuff" in the past weeks. |

There's an old Steve Martin routine. He's an accomplished banjo player and he used to play one during his comedy act in the 1970s. He'd start strumming and the audience would listen with rapt attention - playing something like Foggy Mountain Breakdown or some such fare. After a few stanzas he'd comment that "the banjo is a happy instrument," still plucking away. "It's hard to be depressed." Plink plink. Then he'd go into this melencholic largo vocal, while still playing the banjo. "Oh, death and grief and sorrow and murder." Then gave a wicked smile. The irony and why everyone laughed is that, even though the words were 'depressing,' the accompaniment of the banjo made the song sound light and fun. SOoooooooooooooooooooo while we may not have news of the patch, while we may not have heard what we wanted in the updates. We still had banjo music. What's it mean to us? Make the best out of a bad situation. In some way I think he believed (and I've felt this since July when Luthier posted this) that cushioning bad news with a banjo made the news a little less hard to take. I'm quite sure I'm reading too much into it, but the feeling hit me hard when I read that update and it immediately reminded me of that old joke. I never thought of the update with banjo music as mocking the fan base. I wonder if Luthier is a Steve Martin fan? |

just sit back and wait, still 7 or 8 hour leftover, until the office is closing, if they have normal worktime ;) (if im correct with moskow timezone) |

OK Everyone...When do you think we'll see the next patch???
I really liked Luthier's update :):) so I'm not trying to start a war. But, I think it's 60 days away. Not complaining, just a gut feel. What do you guys think?
|
Since any opinion posted in this thread guessin the release date will be worth roughly its weight in used toilet paper, I don't imagine it has much of a chance to prosper into something overwhelming productive....
...but I'm going to guess 28 days from now anyway. |

P.S We should have a "guess the patch release date" competition. Want to join? Chip in the equivalence of 1€! :D |
I say 17. Its my lucky number :D

Next week.
(but I've thought that for the last 2 months...) |

Two weeks! Be sure.
|
When it's done
|
Sometime between now and the end of time. but definitely not before. (or after)
|
Tomorrow, as tomorrow never comes, or
Sometime between now and never |
21 Dec 2012 :rolleyes::rolleyes:
|
S!
Oldest release date in gaming history: 2 weeks :) |
Kristorf is just miserable because he lives in Milton Keynes.
Sometime in April. |
April 6th
|
When do I think we'll see it?
Heh, simple. When 1C feels that it's done. Not before. And until that time, I'll be in my room with a bucket of patience. |
3 months +

BETA patch, sometime in April.
Complete final patch, May-July 2012. ;) |
I am not even going to guess because there are no prizes. However, if I had to guess then I would say 4-5 weeks given luithers post today about the other minor niggles.
|
April 1st anyone ? ;)
|
As the word "soon" the past 6 months has changed it's definition in Webster dictionary; from "without undue time lapse" to "when hell freezes over"... I would guess a beta patch that will adress the major graphical hickups will be released within 6 months... on the 24th of September at the latest, hopefully also adressing the launcher bug... if not it's still useless to me.
Sorry but it's hard to be more optimistic considering the time scale so far... a scenario that even luthier seems to think is somewhat embarrassing. |
Coming soon as in 'so is christmas'.....
|
so disappointed that the first reply wasn't "two weeks"
|
One day. When the time is right. :-P
|
two weeks
oh memories |
in April
|
It's already out, but they accidentally released it in a parallel timeline. The only way to get it is to travel back in time to 1955 and step on this one particular butterfly, then wait around for 57 years.
|
in two weeks (real)
|
Being a developer myself I have been in their situation too many times... The code works 99% but some bug that is extremely annoying is just impossible to squash. Actually, most of the time finalizing complex code you are hunting that ONE thing that just doesn't work for some mysterious reason... It's the last 20% of a project that takes 80% of the time... Then you find some vaguely documented property of some obscure object that has changed in some framework update that you set to "false" after reading some confused thread on the net - and suddenly everything just works... Or you realize that you have to change a large chunk of code to make it work.
So - between two days and two months is my educated guess ;) As long as they keep up the communication with posts like the one Ilya posted here yesterday, I have no problem that we don't get it. They sure know as much as us that getting a decent patch out on the market would give them a lot of breathing space that they badly need after this last year of immense pressure... |
Working with customers is difficult, but working without is impossible ... as a client of mine told me once ...
|
Waiting the next patch
|
Will be a beta patch?
..or we should expect a final patch when ready?
no asking to who you know, because he don't like be mentioned here... but if "he" can answer, that's good |
Going by the lack of activity here , I would say no beta patch any time soon.
|
Well, not even a manual or readme has been released so don't expect anything tomorrow. It will be here when it's here, and no sooner.

He who must not be blamed will come like a thief in the night and the night will not fall before tracers and ReVi are working. But be sure it will be a beta patch and not the final one. Best Allons!

How about an alpha patch?
Well, everyone is climbing the walls here so how about an alpha patch?
Write in bold letters on the splash screen and in the readme that feature x, y and z doesn't work and the ones accepting that can use it at their own risk? This way other bugs can be found meanwhile the devs focus on the decals? /mazex |
I would like it.... great idea...
|
if there's not tracers that'd be a bad idea
|
Not gonna happen, i believe, considering the behavior of some in these forums when a beta comes out. Some seem to have a major problem understanding the concept of alpha and beta :)
Personally, i love testing alpha's and beta's since it gives us players an opportunity to give feedback on different systems and we can have an affect on the final outcome of the product. But it only works when the feedback is in a constructive manor. |

Let's see here...hmmm...what have the devs/B6 said for ages now...hmmm...there will be a beta patch released first, this patch will be released when it's ready for release, it might be released any day, it might be on a tuesday it might be on a thursday, heck! it might even be on a friday.
This is all anyone need to know, nej! should know by now! |
we are waiting.....an alpha patch...a beta patch...
and the release patch will be on air in 2014...... we have to accept that the title is dead...and the devs cannot fix the sim!!thats the truth see the rise of flight...see the war thunder!! the devs are heroic...they try to save a dead man at the hospital |
so... I need to be attached only because i made a simple question.... great...
@addman, I was just wondering if, after the recent situation, the things changed and we will only have a final patch when ready.. if BlackSix or a dev is so kind to answer... |

Oh ffs...each end of the week the same boring threads, again and again.
Imagine you would get an alpha patch now and today, with all bugs in it and no testing. More than the half of ya would start moning "...waiting for 6 months and again more bugs than before etc pp." I dont want a plane without revi for instance, what you can read by last weeks post of "la cheffe de cousine" But listen...the neece of my parents neighbours daughter, met yesterday someone who was in Moscow at a far relative who had a quick talk to the grannie of ones sister who is working in the studios, that are neighbour to MG, guess what he told him? Suprise .... it will be released ,when it is done! I was so shocked when i heard that , I tell ya.... |

If Blacksix or anyone had anything to report regarding a beta patch, or complete patch or release date or maybe even a readme - do you not think they would have done so? Or do they require permission and a reminder from the customers every single week? I may aswell go and ask if we can expect Battle of Moscow as a completed title or a beta... |

"Just a general observation, not pointed at anyone" Translation: This is pointed at anyone that is not in my "fanboi" club, and has pointed out the fact the release was garbage and was a cash grab because they needed the money. Hope that clears things up! :) |
Thank you Force10,
I really appreciate that you made my point. :D :D :D Btw, as you obviously don't know the meaning of the word "fanboy" (not fanboi), I'd refrain from using it in your place. |
Quote:
1. fanboi Someone who is hopelessly devoted to something and will like anything associated with their particular thing. 2. fanboi Geek Term related to forum users who think a product/company/person can do no wrong. "fanbois will not stop annoying other people until everyone they know is converted to their way of thinking." Please refer to point number 1 of your post I quoted so you can avoid future embarrassment. |
Force1o,
before you put your foot further in your mouth and prove my post #391 correct let me correct your misconception of the definition of a "fanboy". A "fanboy" is a person who is not only devoted to something, but also can't find anything wrong with it. This is where your misconception lays, as such a person still hasn't posted here, afaik. I still have to read a post where the faults of CoD are denied, afaik there are none. If you can't accept this, any communication with you is relly senseless and i'll refrain from continuing it. Cheerio |
