Sadly I have to tell that I have to withdraw from this tournament. There is no way that I could arrange time at this week.

It is still possible, if you contact your opponents, to reschedule your missed matches for the 3rd Period of this tournament (this way you will have at least another 9 days or so to play your remaining matches or at least play all the matches that time allows you to play). Please let us know if you are interested, all you have to do is keep up the excellent communication.

I fear that I'm not going to get to play either of my opponents. I've been in contact with ratman but he's had problems being able to play. I have a friend request pending and a message out to wakespeak but have not heard back from him. I have to go out of town this evening, so unless I find them both online within the next few hours I cant complete this round of matches.

Hello all,

We have entered the 3rd and last period of the group stages. The schedule will soon list all remaining matches as well as matches which were not yet played during the earlier periods of the tournament. May we ask all participants to do their best to complete all their matches until the deadline.

As stated before, in case of any problems it is essential that you inform us as soon as possible. The following applies to matches that will not have been completed at the end of the group stages:

a) In case we find a player has been negligent of their commitments toward the tournament, has failed to make contact with his match partners to play his matches, has failed to inform us of problems, or has resigned from the tournament, he will be disqualified and all his match results be reverted to a 0:3 loss. This will insure that other players standings will be evently affected.

b) In case of any problems we know of, as before, we will do our best to find a solution.

While we wanted to give everyone the opportunity to complete matches that were not completed in period 2, we see no reason to drag anyone along who doesn't care to respond to repeated requests for their participation status or willingness to play their matches. So, to cut everyone else lose from their fruitless efforts to contact such a player, we have decided to disqualify: wakespeak.

Had my second Match with Olife tonite I am proud to say I am still kill-less well acording to the Stupid $%^^^% game . But I do claim to good solid kills as Im sure Olife can agree were a result of my .50 Browns.

Dont worry about the Il2 BoP kill system, if it makes you feel better it looks like you have a total of 8 kills in this tournament :)

Hello all,

Group stage has ended. Congratulations to all who made it to the quarterfinals (or can still compete for their spot), and also to everyone else on their contributions and sportsmanship!

There were a few matches that were not completed due to various circumstances, none which have major influence on the outcome though. In fairness to all others who managed to play their matches we will leave these matches as unplayed and award a penalty of -1 point for each unplayed match.

We also decided to randomize the settings for all remaining matches. I hope all of you trust me enough to do this (I'm also not taking part in the A tournament anymore). Note that previous homemaps of players will be not considered so everyone is facing the challenge of playing on a map other than his homemap.

Following this email, I'm going to randomize the conditions for:

- Fight for quarterfinal slot between 3rd fo Groups A and B
- QF1
- QF2
- QF3
- QF4

Now, good luck to all who made it this far, the way to the top is still a long and hard one, but not quite as long and hard anymore! Fight hard, and may the best win!

Just a quick word on the reason we've randomized the conditions and didn't grant the player with the lesser points/score to chose his homemap as the rules would have dictated.

When we drafted the rules we've had an even number of groups with the same number of players in each in mind. This changed last minute due to the dropping out of Vdomini and our decision to allow all applicants in, thus however creating groups of different sizes and number of matches. Therefore the comparing of points/scores between the groups is not as relevant as planned.

Hope you all agree we've found a fair way to solve this.

My god you are skilled players! And it was just great excitement and fun to play every single one of you. I did write a tiny blog to remember each mission. You know how to find it.

To the rest of you, I just want to say I think it is a real shame I didn't get to fight you in the skies during the tournament. My cannons was all prepared to down you without mercy!

Hi all!

Edal and I spoke about the possibility of scheduling the finals for Sunday February 27th early in the day, followed by a huge party for all participants and friends going well into the evening, a celebration of winners, losers, the tournament, the P-51 Mustang Purist Club and our BOP community as a whole. Just plainly and simply a huge firework of BOP action and fun we'd like to call

The Ace of Aces SUPER BRAWL Sunday!

Activities, not limited to:

- The Finals of A tournament, with the chance of select witnesses being present and providing live reporting via text chat (pending finalist's approval and testing)

- A virtual presentation ceremony for the winner, finalist and third in Text Chat, with live interviews, match recap, champagne shower, etc.

- A Fly-In at either Manston or Catania with everybody landing and taking up viewing positions on one side of the runway with aerobatic displays and showfighting taking place in a predefined airspace on the other side of the airfield (needs testing and preparation)

- Gigantic Aerial Battles of P-51D5s versus P-51Bs in Strike mode

- Brutal Aerial Football matches in Capture Airfield mode (Aerial Football? See HERE)

- Massive Wine, Beer, Popcorn,...

etc. etc.

All P-51 Mustang Purist Club members and Friends are invited. Non members may be admitted on application and our discretion.

As for this event it was great BRAVO ZULU To Mac and Edal for thier hardwork to make this happen. To all my opponents you guys are all incredable flyers. Both in Skill and in honor .
Wookie sorry we could not hook up for our matches but due to timezone issues conection problems and then myself having to leave for funeral for couple of days it just didnt happen. Our matchup was the only one I stood any chance of winning too all be it a slim chance though ;):rolleyes::grin:. Rest of this crowd just to deadly accurate in Sim. :!:

Introducing Club Rules 'Light'
 

Hello all,

In order to use the positive momentum the tournament has created and promote the more challenging ways of flying, I'd like to introduce a new version of the Club Rules which should make it easier for members and outsiders to find their way into the cockpits:

Club Rules 'Light' (CRL)

- Cockpit Only
- No HUD
- Who dies less wins
- Limited Fuel/Ammo

Own discrection on sensitivity settings.

Note that the B-tournament is not affected by this change, which still requires classic Club Rules at all times.

When setting up a game under CRL, it's easiest to start the game from the text chat with everyone who wants to play like this, or send PSN messages to those in a room to confirm CRL are in force.
