So if anyone is still interested, the homebuilt I posted back on pg 30 is a "Mini-Imp" designed by Molt Taylor back in the 70's. It has a VW engine that sits just behind the cockpit and drives a tail mounted pusher prop through a drive shaft. I want one heheheh.

Horten 229, very experimental.
Here's another pic of how it might have looked: |

big bucket oh win
|
The Ho-229 was designed by the Horten brothers, but were it to enter production it would have been designated Go-229 owing to the fact that Horten didn't have any manufacturing plants of their own. The pic I posted isn't the 229 though; think bigger.

it is a phantom in the background. If you look at the pic again theirs actually 3 planes in the pic. The fuselage you can see is not the phantoms, but the plane infront of it. So all you can actually see of the phantom is indeed the tail fin :D the main plane in the pic is.... i've no idea! foriegn. The plane behind it..again i've no idea. But the plane furthest back is indeed a phantom and not folded wings :) it belongs to the luftwaffe also (the phantom). |
is it an Alpha Jet?

A few planes have wierd camo. Mostly for air shows and centenaries etc....
http://i809.photobucket.com/albums/z...ation_Flig.jpg that boris becker on the back of one of them?? |
They should make a plane with Leonidas kicking the Persian messenger on it. Then use it on the front lines. (No political comment intended, it's just an awesome bit regardless of nationality of the participants)

If only all modern jet had custom paint to suit the pilot, it would be one hell of a pretty dogfight |

Hint: it has the most powerful jet engines fitted to a plane, would regularly break the sound barrier on the runway, was armed with 22 AA missiles and could fly at 143,000ft |

@Wissam: I think that is a French Breguet from the 1920s or 30s? Not sure though, but that radiator makes me think it is. :D

i noticed the flag. but its not a casa. ?
wait... hispano have contracts with the french. .... ok, 1 quit.... :( |
The large partial picture is of a Northrop P-61 "Black Widdow" night fighter.
The bi-plane has a Fokker D-V tail, Armstrong-Wittworth Siskin wings and a propellor that looks like its from a Hawker Fury. The undercarriage also looks the same as on a Siskin too. I'm think that its a Dutch Fokker D-VII, D-VIII or D-IX maybe?? |

Try this one.....
The US Navy's first all metal mono-plane Torpedo and Scout back in 1933. Top speed 220 MPH. 850 HP engine. Served until 1941. Designed by Dayton Brown. Only 29 built under licence by another company and not by the original designers. |
Naval Aircraft Factory SBN
|
Correct!!
It was Brewster's only reliable aircraft..... because they never actually built it. |

This was a prototype jet chaser in 1944 and saw some service during the late 1940's, after the war had finished.
Powered by the Rolls-Royce Griffon engine. Top speed was 492 MPH in level flight. This is the world's second fastest ever piston engined aircraft, the Martin-Baker MB-5 being quicker at 520 MPH. There was also a jet powered version. |
Spiteful
Jet became Supermarine Attacker |
