I do enjoy what the game does well, but the things it lacks more than outweigh the things I like.

I'm utterly bored with the map. I'm tired of flying the Hurricane. I don't fly German, I would fly the G.50, but it is a joke. The only good Spitfire usually is not available, etc...etc...etc...

I eagerly await the expansion, so at least I can do some proper ground pounding with the IL2.

On a fresh map.

In a different season, with varied climatic conditions.

I hope.

1-2 hours a day on ATAG or offline bomber training. I find online too hard until I know what I'm doing since there are no external views to easily see the bomb release (indicator is bugged in the HE-111) and the target.

Snapper's post pretty much sums it up for finding contacts. Definitely jump on TS3 - even one other person on comms can change your whole evening. Just yesterday there was a 110 and a 109 buzzing Hawkinge. Four of us on teamspeak converged at the same time from different directions. I think it was Snapper who said, "Those poor guys, they're already dead but they just don't know it yet!" He sure was right - great fun! A 110 that has lost its energy is such a nice target.

And I don't know how many times I have seen a 109 closing on a red's six who isn't on teamspeak. Usual procedure is to call 'checksix' or 'break' but when they aren't listening they just go down in flames.

Edit: Definitely with you there, ElAurens. Very much looking forward to the expansion even though I'm still enjoying the channel.

Yep, that was me! You guys were a bit ahead of me and I knew that 110 was in for a world of hurt. Then a 109 squirted out of Hawkinge and went feet wet at wavetop height in a desperate run for home with a Spit in hot pursuit. A couple of us in Hurries decided to give chase -- why not? ;)

I was low on fuel, but "for King and Country -- Tally Ho!". We slowly overtook the Spit and passed him, but we couldn't gain on the yellownose. He dragged us clear across the Channel to France and I was fully expecting his pals to greet us as Cap Gris Nez approached. I was surprised when he suddenly went vertical over his coast and opted to engage us; I figured he'd simply lure us over one of his airfields and let the AAA do its work. Just then my engine spluttered and died. Bingo fuel! Aaaarrrrrgggghhhhh! I left him to you guys and plonked unceremoniously down in a French seaside field. In self-loathing I signed off and went upstairs for a ham sandwich. Oh, the shame!!!!! LOL

Did anyone get that 109?

Haven't played for a while. Simple as this, I will not play until it works.
No working single player-not interested.

Not flown in months and months, CTDs, stutters and dodgy sound wreak the sim for me.
Ive been flying IL2 and having a great time, no crashes, super smooth, FSAA lots of people, COOPs, lots of maps.

in fact this thread sums up CLOD perfectly....we wait....still.

One more month until CLODs anniversary, i think we get the patch around then. Lets hope its worth the wait.

Tree_UK 02-15-2012 08:19 AM

I have flown once this year but got a CTD in less than 15mins, Im waiting for the patch to fix this and the stutter and the shimmering etc etc.. Like Furbs been flying Il21946 again and having loads of fun with old squad mates, theres 15 of us flying Il21946 and not one flying CLOD. We need the patch to save Clod,

bluescreen2 02-15-2012 08:31 AM

played maybe 10 hours till release and spend way more here
at the forum. waiting for performance patches and better
nvidia cards... :/

its no fun to me since release. :/

A month after Euro release I uninstalled 1946 FB. Ive played 410 hours since then. Love it, just dont love the launcher errors.

So no, Ive spent more time playing the game.

Feuerfalke 02-15-2012 08:52 AM

I just moved on to other flightsims.

Out of routine I hit the bookmark every now and then. But since there is no "patch-here-sticky", I'm usually off after 3 seconds again...

I've flown like 3 hours in total, 2 of that after the last patch-release.
