It's only a matter of time before cod is fixed... And remember that it takes at least 6 months to make a detailed model... Durhhhh

It takes one to see one, nats!

I think re-creating the aircraft in 3D only takes perhaps a week (exterior model) and perhaps the same for the cockpit view! If all the references are good and the devs decide the cockpit represents historical accuracy!

However I believe the 6 month thing is said to be a full- flyable aircraft with what I imagine to be the most time-consuming task : To animate every single lever, button, gauge, mechanical part etc etc etc. I think that's where the working hours go :)

I could just as easily find it insulting that you demand they either lay off a bunch of modellers or keep them on the payroll without doing anything, but i don't usually get insulted by people having a different opinion ;)

It's not like these guys are AI programmers or sound engineers or people who can dig into the engine and eliminate a couple of things that cause stutters, or otherwise help with any of the existing issues.

What they do is draw pretty textures, that's what they know, that's what they're paid to do and i'd rather have them working and getting a bit ahead of the proverbial curve, than sit in the office twiddling their thumbs just because some of us here entertain a notion that software developer teams are comprised of jack of all trades employees who can jump around between different fields of expertise.

They can be like a utility infielder. They are capable of doing a do a few different jobs. They can take up the slack when a programmer is on vacation or on sick leave.

Yeah and then you end up with a bug fest... Let these guys work on what they know best, and things will workout in the end!

You always were one for taste and tact, natz.

No where did they say they were going to release a new version/sequel without CoD being fixed. While some in the forum were saying CoD was deserted abandon-ware, Luthier has shown that the commitment to Cod is secure. They wouldn't be working on a new version if they were going to let CoD die. They have laid the groundwork to the forum members describing how they were going to proceed with repairs. But pay no attention to that. It's easier to be a punk and look cool.

Personally I think I've seen enough videos online that lead me to believe CoD will be a fine purchase for me. Perfect? No, but despite the release state, they are working on it. I'll give the benefit of doubt to the team.

Now if you have no plans to purchase more products from 1C, can you.... um.... bugger off?

furbs 07-04-2011 04:38 PM

I think before he "buggers off" hes going to wait for the one he "paid for" to get fixed.

Well he can wait patiently outside or learn not to be a butt-head. Sorry. I'm tired of responses like his.... so as far as I care he can bugger off.

Welcome back furbs.

I do love the pacific and wish they would put super detail in it. I love flying off of carriers.

Well as for discussing the main topic . . .,

I do agree with Nats, in regarding leaving the current game and making a sequel, which the devs aren't doing, nor have they mentioned it. It is a shame and greedy. Very bad.

But since the dev's aren't going that route, Nat's argument is invalid for all intents and purpose(s).

In this case, I'd rather present the dev team as thinking ahead.

Well you have to look at the Il-2 team. I like how they are looking forward. The dev team EXPECTS this (current buggy game) to be fixed.

So they have a lady already designing stuff for future campaigns.

I don't see any issues in that.
