Just an older shot. I miss the time when this game had color.:(

Jaws, did you see this thread from a while back?
http://forum.1cpublishing.eu/showthread.php?t=32255 I've attached some settings below that will make things a bit more colourful. Here are some screenshots made using those and other settings (the first one is default), no effects added afterwards. I might update the thread above with some more examples later on. http://img821.imageshack.us/img821/8721/b004960x600.png http://imageshack.us/a/img443/1091/b009960x600.png http://img228.imageshack.us/img228/1091/b009960x600.png http://img15.imageshack.us/img15/8096/b006960x600.png http://img12.imageshack.us/img12/6246/b008960x600.png http://img585.imageshack.us/img585/3446/006960x600.png |
Those are some cool sunsets. :-P
I tried that a few months ago. It worked ok, but you end up with the redish tint over everything, all the time. It's great for certain things as long as you don't change the time too much. The beauty of the early lighting engine in CLOD is that the color changing was very natural. I really don't understand why they messed that up, as it didn't affect the performance much. :( The thing is, I still have an older instal on a back up drive and I go back to it from time to time. When I do that, I end up pi$$ed and come here and post screenshots. I still hope they will bring back those natural sunset and sunrise colors, without the need for filters. Anyway, thank you Les for your tweaks. I think I'll go play with them a bit.:) |

No worries. It is possible to reduce the red in those last settings I posted, but as you say, there's no way to improve one time of day without effecting the others.
Having said that, here are some more settings that do solve the colour problems altogether. |

some pretty amazing screenshots and video's in this thread, good to see what the sim can do (for those on very high end pc's), and the potential of what the sim can become (soon we hope) is very evident, it can become all we hoped for in the lead-up years and then some more :)

i wouldnt put it past them to do so :) i vaguely remember there was a pen lying on a navigator desk in one of the 1946 planes, and it would roll around during flight and what happens if you invert the plane ? broken bottle or smashed windows ? maybe a bit much to hope for the last bit |

Unzip the 'FXAA_PPI_Rev_37.zip' folder, then open up the 'DirectX10' folder that's within it and copy/paste all it's contents (injFX_Shaders, dxgi, injFX_Settings, readme, shader.hlsl) into the folder wherever your 'Cliffs Of Dover' exe. is installed (ie. Local Disk (C)/Program Files/Steam/steamapps/common/il-2 sturmovik cliffs of dover). Run the game and press the 'Pause/Break/ScrLk' button (without the 'F Lock' button engaged) to turn the effects on and off and see if they're working. If they are working, return to desktop via the 'Windows' button (you don't have to exit the game) and either open up the 'injFX_Settings' 'H' folder that you just installed and start adjusting settings, or (easier) replace the 'injFX_Settings' 'H' folder altogether with another one that's already been adjusted. Then just return to the game to see it's effects. If you do want to adjust settings yourself, there's a bit more to it I could explain (it's not that obvious what needs adjusting or by how much), but I'll leave it at that for now. I've attached my own preferred colour settings, some much more colourful settings, and some old-fashioned black and white settings too. Again, to use those attachments, just unzip them and copy the 'injFX_Settings' file within them to wherever your 'Cliffs Of Dover' exe. is installed and let it overwrite the default or other 'injFX_Settings' file that's there. This thread has more examples of different settings - http://forum.1cpublishing.eu/showthread.php?t=32255 |

Here is the Blenheim as a fighter against bombers.
