Awesome!

How did you connect the force feedback?

I built 6 different versions of this using different springs and mounts. The wood and springs was cheap so all it took was my time basically. The buttkicker gamer was $150.

Basically I tested several different tensile strength springs of varying length and LB ratings. The 350lb springs have just the right amount of strength while still having enough give to give the entire chassis movement when ever the buttkicker goes off or you shift your weight on the pedals or throttle or stick. It really is a cool sensation. You must build one appropriate for your weight, I am 200lb and found this setup to work well with my weight.

The spring mountings are 2 inches into the wood and held in place basically by pressure and gravity. The suspension also adds a much needed almost 7.5" to the height of the rig, which was much to low on its own. So its is a double bonus.

By not having a wife. :)

^^^LOL

In all seriousness though, my girlfriend at the time didn't mind this and found it quite cool. I don't understand how a man can have a woman tell him what he can and cannot do. Guess thats why I am not married and probably never will be.

Indeed.

I am married, and if I had the space, my wife would have no problem with me having a cockpit set up.

She already has had no problem with my 3 arcade machines, and countless other gaming peripherals as well as my Steel Battalion table, which I will now deem a sofa cockpit table. :)

When I say no problem with, I mean isn't going to kick me out of the house for. She clearly does look at me like I'm nuts though. :D

I was going to ask the same question, but you did so in a much more concise, direct way. Haha.

If I had this setup (I wish), I would need to keep it secluded like a secret obsession over the Spice Girls...

All you need is an ejection seat and it will be perfect!;)
