In fact, I think it's in a mission.

Really? Where did you find that out?

Ok.. so how often would that happen? so you would probably be stuck there navigating untill someone gets a lucky shot... Maby if he was the co-pilot AND the bomb aimer.

That could work. But in WW2 many people died in B-17s and most of the people that died were pilots since the Me-109s would come head on.

I accept that but unless there is a load of Ps3/xbox playing veterans out there i dont think this will happen nearly as much as it would have done! I think that you would be better off having a fighter escort than a full crew B-17. Anyway thats my two pence.

That is a good idea. You could have a few prople in the B-17 and some other people in fighter for escort.

It was in a Japanese press release(that I translated to English) that I posted here during E3 '09.

Its not how they did it in 'them days' that counts its appealing to a wide audience. Now, would you like to be playing a game wher you have been selected as the co-pilot and might end up with nothing to do for a significant part of the game? iIt might be ok to a 'Sim nut' but the bigger market is the average gamer who want action. Thats how you sell your games - appealing to the biggest market.
