Many years of IL2 tells me you do want to be trimmed out in this situation...you've been damaged and you need to get away, to do this you need to look at the map, looking at the map in an untrimmed and damaged plane close to the ground is very dangerous. Not to mention you'll also be looking around for who damaged you...
