Hate Steam all you want, but you'll still have to deal with it if you want to play CLoD.

so why didnt it say so on the box...

so if i want to play i have to deal with steam....what happens when i cant play but still have to deal with steam???

again why didnt it say ANYTHING about steam on the box...where on the box did it say i was buying a product that would be tied to some third party software....

i just goes to show the mind set of the average individual consumer...who has zero dignity and is resigned to being a pawn of the corporations will....its a sad day for freedom loving people everywhere....

maybe i should sell a product, but neglect to say on the packaging, that they need another product to be able to use the one that they are buying....i wonder how that would go over in the REAL WORLD....i guess you people simply tolerate such things cuz you have no dignity....

also if im a slave to the corporation then i guess that gives me the right to kill them in order to regain my freedom....

well with that said, im loading up my magazines and headed to russia

If the last post weren't so pathetic it would be sad.

the only thing that is pathetic is the way corporations do business...i mean you have banks that steal billions and launder billions of dollars...and then are forced to pay only a fraction of that in fines....

you have MF global who stole their customers accounts...

we live in a fascist world....remember fascism at its most basic level is a merging of the state and corporations....

the abuses of corporations/govt go on and on...WE ARE ALL VICTIMS, of their criminal actions....but yea im the bad guy for pointing it out...

just keep paying your taxes to the IRS and federal reserve (remember IRS has REFUSED to go on record showing the actual law that requires you to pay)or to your "sovereign" queen (you see the queen is sovereign, you are a citizen or subject, thus you are a slave or a ward of the state)

All this has nothing to do with CoD!

Put up your soap-box where it might count, not in a flight sim thread.

but this whole idea that i can pay for something but need a third party service which the game is dependent on to work....a service that can go down at anytime, thus depriving me of my ability to use a product that i lawfully paid for, that to me is a problem....and if they get away with that now, what is next...having to buy the game and then a third party software in order to play the game....seriously people WAKE UP!

its to bad most of you are too busy "going along to get along"

So you bought a product without actually checking the terms of use first, and if there were any catches with it? And more specifically: A software-product? Sorry, the cake is all over your face. I didn't bother buying the boxed version, since I had the brains to actually check around before I bought CLoD to see what methods of distribution were available.

Nobody held a gun to your head to get you to order CLoD. Nobody forced you, or tricked you into buying it. You bought the software of your own volition, and you can hardly blame 1C for not checking the details, which, as they say, is where the devil (in this case Steam) is.

Caveat Emptor, my friend. Look it up, learn it and understand it.

Steams fault?

Since the steam was not accessable for 24h from Germany only, I just want to point out that the policy of paying software but not owning it, is not legal in Germany.

Therefore steam is obliged to give you offline acces to games you buy.
Offline mode can not be switched on when offline.

It's understandable that it's frustrating that you cannot connect and play. But again, there's few alternatives and right now I don't think 1C will swap platforms due to the fact that they actually make far more money selling their products over Steam compared to regular over-the-counter sales. And as usual, money talks, bovine excrement walks.

There are tons; it's the publishers who prevent them from flourishing. First of all there are several great platforms that don't require messed up 3rd party, like GoG, Gamersgate etc.

But then again, if it's just about contend distribution then Desura and Origin are definitely almost equal.

And no, Origin isn't worse than steam when it comes to privacy... ;)

False. See my post here: http://forum.1cpublishing.eu/showpos...4&postcount=10

And by the way, I'm German but my Steam worked. I even downloaded games and added games from an external game sale to my library...
Not sure what the issue was but since I can't confirm it.
