I can't wait to see the Butcher Bird and the Mossie. |
Oh yes, the Mossi, also a wonderful aircraft. I loved to fly her in IL2 unfortunately the operational conditions online are not made for Mossis.

Took a 40mm bofors shell into the R/H engine nacelle, bursting it into flames...
http://cloud.steampowered.com/ugc/56...28C108D01CDB5/ After feathering the prop, opening rads and oil coolers the fire caused the engine block to overheat and pretty much blew radiators, oil gaskets, governors, exhaust manifolds and more, so I was lucky to set my prop to feather before the governor failed. Looks really nice when you can see the slowly turning prop leave its shadows on the nacelle... http://cloud.steampowered.com/ugc/56...14EDDCCA5727C/ Managed to make it back to France with the plane intact.. Of course since all hydraulic systems depend on the Hydraulic pump driven by the R/H engine I had to use the emergency gear down system, and the gear slowly pushed out and locked. I made a nice three point landing and steered the 110 off the runway before I lost my speed.. Engine fire wouldn't blow out, so I assume the fire units were rushing out :p http://cloud.steampowered.com/ugc/56...B9688B1B6C3A4/ |
those are some gorgeous pics of the 110 at dawn.
