I've had a decent improvement with this patch. Frame rates are slightly better, but overall it's much more smooth. The Stutter over buildings seems to be GONE, in fact, IL2 1946 gives me more stutter over cities than CloD does now.
I flew around a bit offline last night and shot up some ground targets in object-infested areas and found myself smiling as I played. Pretty good stuff. Unlike a lot of other ATI users, I seem to get the best performance in full screen mode. Turning up the settings does little to slow things down, the only thing I don't have maxed out is SSAO. I also no longer need to force 3d clock speeds, thanks for that... that was a pain. I7 975E PowerColor PCS+ 6970 2 Gig 6 Gigs Corsair Dominator DDR3 Win 7 Pro 64 Bit |

Sound Bug With New Patch!
From the point of initially purchasing the game & lots & lots of testing and little tweaks here & there i can say i have had small if at all no performance issues, however during the installation of patches to which have improved upon performance there have been numerous bugs that occur!
(i) During all online play to this day including all patches i have had no external sounds excluding AAA flak and explosions – there has been no buzzing of passing planes or hearing gun attack from enemy. (ii) Only from time to time Launcher.exe failures. (iii) Occasional stutter & freezing but nothing major. BUT WITH THE NEW PATCH I NOW HAVE MAJOR SOUND BUG AS IN THERE IS ACUTE SOUND DEFORMATION AND THEN NO SOUND AT ALL. (This is my only gripe with regards to all the hard work that the 1c Team has put into getting the game up to scratch - Thanks team for all the hard work much appreciated but with this matter OOOPPPSS! The stutters of the last beta are much reduced for me, close to running as il2 does now to be honest, only far better looking! I did notice more shimmering tree shadows from the air - they look like shadows of trees in a blustery wind , blurrily moving around a lot.
Sounds are stronger, some of the MG sounds are very loud; stuck bombers in the 'German - column attack' quick mission no longer get stuck in mid air over the land, though I still had one permanent stuck bit of smoking debris in the air. Still no damage model for buildings, no matter what's thrown at them. Nevertheless, a good step in the right direction, FPS more stable with far less sudden big drops and a lot less stuttering (practically gone) over built-up areas. It would be nice to be able to change the AI strength in the quick missions. Keep up the progress, I'm starting to enjoy this a lot more :) |

Couldn't select any base nor plane after 'plane'. Game has to be killed with taskmanager while exit doen't work. Also couldn't change army after selecting one. Longer loading times. Crossfire seems to add fps now. tir 3 |
Additional to my earlier post- i also couldn't exit the multiplayer session and had to use Task Manager to shut it down.

I have noticed that when I leave a server on steam that I have to go to windows taskmanager to quit game.. It is like it taking a long time to close.
I never had this problem at all until now. Just wanted to post here to see if anybody else is having the same issues. Thanks for your support. |
