Aprart from random crashes a random times without any reason or instafreez of the game when creating group in multiplayer i have one new issue with the game. When i fly exteded period of time my screen will freeze but sound still renders properly i can hear engine response to control inputs aswell as i can hear proper sounds when switching views or firing guns. It looks like game is running but Gpu just sotps rendering it and i have to quit it from task manager.
I have not noticed any performance improvements but thats most likely becouse i cannot run the game for 15 minutes without a crash and most of those 15 minutes i usually spend on restoring my aircraft configurations or controls because they will not save when the game crashes

Not sure if there is a separate thread for posting patch issues but ill try here. I have the system in my sig and have noticed no difference in performance with this patch with the exception of my second card sometimes gives me a very brief sign of life but then is gone. here is a snap shot of what my cards were doing with me dog fighting over london with everything turned on max settings in stretched screen, not full screen mode. :)

Thanks

Have you tested realfullscreenmode, i know that crossfire support need proper fullscreen to work.

Just frustrating to see no progress whatsoever. I love this sim but there seems to be a lack of focus here. working on the way cockpit needles bounce when half the community can't run the game.

I think if 1c is structured like most other companies, then they will have different teams working on different aspects of the game.
I highly doubt the whole CoD development team is looking at game performance only.

But I agree it's annoying to have minor cosmetic changes few would immediately notice when things like pixellated rear view mirrors are staring you in the face.

Guys excuse me I 'm sorry but having a momentary lapse of memory
I have to un-rar the files WHERE?

Sturmovick folder on C:/Steam/etc/etc

or

1cSoft Club in Mydocuments?

It is embarassing but I can't remember, probably too tired this week, sorry again.

Pure speculation on our parts but if so.. Exactly.. Re-asign all resources to "making the game function" may be a good idea.. Getting 4 new items that actually work into a weekly patch rather than a bi or tri weekly patch with 2 out of 40 items listed in the patch notes actually functioning.

I'll stop here though. Just needed to voice the ol frustrations. And again, only frustrated due to the desire to see this sim do well. I bought a whole new rig for it I love it so much.

thanks just tried this :) i did see an increase in performance and here is a pic of what my cards were doing in true full screen mode still choppy over london with everything maxed out so hopefully some more playing with the utilization of the second card on 1C's part will smooth this out :) Here is a pic of my cards same place dogfight over london full settings. I am no expert but when this feature is tuned in correctly the GPU load should be shared equally on both GPU's correct? I know when i play ROF or world of Tanks they are both at equal levels but i don't know if this is normal or just the way in which these games use the cards. Thanks for the feedback.

Heya Conte,

This is how I would go at installing this patch:

1) Open steam, go to library, right click Cliffs of Dover, Select Properties and go to Local Files tab, click on Verify Integrity of Game Cache and let it run and download in order to make sure your copy is "clean" and updated to the latest official patch.

2) Go to \Documents\1C SoftClub\il-2 sturmovik cliffs of dover\cache\ and delete everything in the main folder, keep the shaders folder but delete everything inside.

3) If you want to be sure your conf.ini is set to default just delete it in \Documents\1C SoftClub\il-2 sturmovik cliffs of dover\ and it should make a new one next time you start up the game, you have to set your video settings again first time you start the game.

4) Download the latest patch and extract it to your desktop, then cut and paste all folders to \Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\il-2 sturmovik cliffs of dover\ selecting yes on any request to overwrite and copy and replace otherwise.

5) For ATI users go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\il-2 sturmovik cliffs of dover\parts\core\GUI\ and rename the intro.wmv to something different or just delete it, just be careful as it might affect VAC cheat protection in the future when playing online, so far there seems to be no problem to do this though.

thank you too, yes today for the first time I have tried the Steam/check integrity procedure

I didn't know about the other steps you mentioned (cache, etc) and now it's too late, I already installed the patch. I will try it next time

About this patch... I don't know. Looks a bit worse over land. I remember having like 20/22 fps over London, medium settings. A few minutes ago I was over the country (no towns, just a few farms) and I was between 17/20 fps :(

Good over sea, 45/55 fps stable, no stutter at all, even if I have many planes fighting

q9550 quad 2.8ghz
gtx 260 1732Mb
4Gb ram corsair
SataII drives
Win7 64 bit
Latest nVidia drivers

Screen mode: full screen - antialiasing 4x
(PS antialias does NOT work for me, it never worked with all the patches, what am I missing?????)
