The justification in pricing might be tricky as well, do they charge full game price if its just a new location with new planes and such? Guess it all depends on their plans for it... we will have to wait and see. |

I doubt the pricing will change, considering the millions of dollars they spent, and are still spending getting the game engine to work. I doubt the sales of COD even come close to covering those costs, and the Sequel probably won't either. The key to any success is the sale of a number of Sequels, MMO's, and contracting out the game engine. |

In my opinion the best flight sim is still Microsoft Flightsimulator X. The best combat sims are still Falcon4/EECH on a shared first place. IL-2 1946 in the HSFX+SEOW are a close second. Cliffs of Dover are the best WWII dogfight sim. DCS makes nice study sims but like COD it lacks space and diversity, although it is way better when it comes to playability and finish. Should I chose one between all of them, HSFX+SEOW / EECH will be on a shared first place. Don't get me wrong. I like the fidelity and dogfights after the introduction of the 1.08 beta patch. But I feel no immersion. I feel no pressure. I don't get the adrenaline rush in the final stages of my stalking as in IL-2 or EECH. I don't really know why  Maybe it is the lack of purpose and lack of limits on aircrafts..... |
What do you mean by lack of limits on the aircraft?

@podvoxx, thanks for the positive information in your post today:-)

Don't write off 1C as a company with no direction or financial capacity. They have other very profitable products, especially business and financial software.
Most of the basics for further development are in place to build several more sequels to COD. So, don't expect the worst. I am not saying this because I have inside information. I don't. I just know how much effort and money has gone into the development of what you enjoy right now. It isn't prudent business to dump all that quality of work and content. 1C will find their way to preserve and produce the sequels. |

This is great news. The easiest way for them would be to make those for DCS. The engine is ready, all they need is planes, maps and missions.

I hope there's some bottom to these rumours of Ilya and his future plans, sounds right up my street.

It sounds promising for him if he has been able to cut ties from the 1C debacle.
I think also that he would maybe have a clause in the contract that for a year or two after leaving 1C he couldn't create a competing product so by entering the Korean theatre he would be side-stepping any problems there. I imagine something like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o40Y9U0L7Io with updated graphics and also F-51's involved would be brilliant! We also have to consider that at-least Luthier wouldn't be stepping into someone else's mess and being in control from the start (and having learned lessons from the failure of CloD), he should be able to bring something interesting to the table. I think also that it would be wise to maybe start small with maybe a couple of jets and a couple of props from each side, a detailed map(s) with user friendly campaign/mission builder and co-op online play. Don't throw huge amounts of features in at the start, just get the fundamentals in place, working perfectly and then build on it's new legacy. If it does happen, it looks like it will be a great new venture into flight simming ;) MP |

What I wish for a new flight sim (and I think Luthier shares this vision) is that the environment is simulated at a more or less similiar level than the planes. This is also what I like most about CloD and don´t like on DCS-Screenshots: CloD makes me feel like flying the plane "in the planes" world, rather than flying a highly detailed A-10 in a wasteland... The immersion-Factor is much higher when the environment and the plane match. Well... Let´s see what will happen, Luthier has my sympathy and support... |

I agree!...it was even 100% better before the cutting up began. All the bouncing/shaking feeling like an aircraft is gone .. due to community complaints directed at the wrong things to fix ...hit my sig link or requires a double click here, explores the world of dots...dots best seen in full screen mode https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UtgTlOuR2lE |
Advice to Luthier
Just throw in a P-51 with the über .50 and it will be a hit among the red necks!

DCS world with the P-51 and contemporary advereries and objects, maps would be an eye opener, though I don't get that COD feeling of flight in the P-51. that could change by the time it is released of course. |

I wait in anticipation to see what they can do! :) As a companion to the p-51, I think they need to model an L-4 or a O-1 to act as FAC calling in airstrikes! :) |
