lol, well lets just say he's been found wanting a few times.

It seems that you didn't understand what he said in his welcoming message.
A lot of us was quite reassured by it.

He said the same stuff he had said numerous times, standard press release blah, fixing this blah, working hard blah blah blah. here is a picture of my cat.

It does make me wonder when you post "no more news" and Luthier's post clearly states they are still in business and working on the sim.

the "no more news" was refered to luthier that will not post any news about the progress, they don't have time to write progress on the forum, the missed "friday update", probably i was not clear

Their profession is to create games, not to answer a million questions that goes something like "are we there yet?".

I think that communication between developer and community is a very nice thing to have, but I'm not going to demand it when it is temporarily absent.
Luthier have made it clear what their intentions are, and that they would like to be more active in the forums, that should be good enough, anyhow it's quite professional.

We will see soon enough.

When they have something to tell us about the progress they will. Like I said before they've been burned too many times by speculating what they might get done and when.

I think this could have been valid in the 90s, when there was no internet, but every software house today shows commitment towards comms with customers/fans etc.. if anything it's common sense..

I've been enjoying the unbroken parts of the sim for last 4 months since the sims release in the East, not 5 months ago, we know how you like to exaggerate. You've be predicting the sims demise for sometime and I'm sure you will be wrong for many more years. :)

Changing SpeedTree for "SpinningTree"? Or maybe "RoF quality" in buildings design/elevation data?

I pass this "RoF quality"...

Tree, wouldn't it be easier for him to stay positive if posts such as yours were a little more positive themselves, I have had the game since release and I am positive, you seem to be seeing the negative side of it all, that doesn't mean the rest of us do.

The problem with your posts lately are you take the extreme negative view on everything, one of your posts mentioned the ability for a player to change planes online meaning you only get credited with an AI kill, your response "online is porked", well IL2 had no scoring at release, did that make it porked?

Maybe if you started to look at this sim with an eye to what it can and most likely will be, you might be more positive?

I love ROF, play it all the time, but it is played on very small maps, with very few objects able to be in a mp game, no real trenches no troops on the ground etc, the FM's are not all correct and two years in haven't even been looked at, the MG's are all the same rof, max players online are about 40 and so on and so on, for me when CoD is done it will make ROF look like WOP, nice but no lasting depth.

But until then ROF is well worth a look at, but the engine would need a rewrite if you want coops like those in IL2.
