There's so many good underground games out there and nobody ever notices them. This is why PC will always be better than consoles. Consoles are for kids who will consume anything the media/big studios will throw at them

Yes consoles suck! Take Condemned 2 for example.. On 360 the graphics were like a ps1 graphics and also the controls were realy stupid. But condemned 1 on pc had realy next gen graphics much better than codemned 2 graphics on 360!! I have a 360 for 2 years and the last time i opened it was 1 year ago And the only games that i played on it was Sonic the hedgehog(i bought the 360 because of that game) And also i played haLO 3 a bit but i didnt finish it. But i am going to play my 360 soon again because Sonic unleashed(the next sonic game is comimg!)

Today I've got a very BIG disappointment. A few posts ago, I seriously complained about 1C ignoring us about the release date of Cryostasis, and I stated I wouldn't buy the game because of that.

But today I changed my mind, since I've discovered that Mirror's Edge (PC version), which I reserved 2 months ago, has moved its release date from Nov. 13th to JANUARY 09 O_O , while the rest of versions are released TOMORROW as it was expected.

So I asked myself: What have we done, PC users, to be treated like this? Piracy? Is it all because of piracy? I don't find that as a good reason for us to be marginalized from consoles in that way.

Then I remembered Cryostasis, and I thought it was not a good idea to promote piracy on a company which designs quality games like this EXCLUSIVELY FOR PC, taking the risks that involve this platform, so I'm going to put my trust in 1C/ActionForms again and buy their release.

Sorry for posting a long comment like this, about a topic which is not related to the thread, but I'd like to share these thoughts with you, guys.

I was dissapointed too when i learnt that the pc version of mirror edge will not be released today.. So as we all know most pc exculsive games right now are from Russian companies but we hardly see any pc exculsive games from other companies from other countries.. Why is that? Why others companies dont care about pc gaming? Why pc is so popular only in Russia ? What do you think is that because of the piracy? Sorry for the offtopic but i think that this is something very important that we must talk about!:)

it's sad, first the game was to be released in september, after october was the release date, after 7th november, and now nothing and without any release date, i think the 1C Company have some problems with communications or the game have some problems in the production, or "bugs" or something like that, i don't know, i only know what i'm waiting for this game too much time and now this, it's sad, so, i will ask again, does anyone have any news about the release date? :( :confused:

Well, that's good news. At least it's confirmed that the delay was a result of improving the game's appearance, and not only for economic reasons.
I've seen the video and it looks fantastic, the power of PhysX is simply amazing. It's a shame my graphic card is ATI Radeon, but maybe I've just come out with an idea about what to ask for in Christmas :)

I've heard that Cryostasis will also be full compatible with Nvidia PhysX, maybe this delay is due to the adaptation of the game to the latest PhysX drivers or maybe they're improving the visual settings of the game... Who knows, maybe we could find very interesting changes in the game!

Ah, another issue I am interested in: If the game is going to be released in Europe, will it be multilanguage? (English, Spanish, French, Italian... etc)

15 fos, 1680 x 1050, AA 4x, very hight for a 9600 gt is 20 - 25 fps for a 8800 GT / 8800 GTX , 9800 GTX ....

And for 1280x1024? How much fps can a 8800 get on 1280x1024 max settings? My monitor dosent support any higher resolution than 1280x1024.

1680 x 1050 is a 35 % more resolution , and maybe 35 % minus FPS than in 1280 x 1024 . If the game not is CPU dependent .

Baxter it's rather hard to predict the FPS, but on your system it should run with more than 30 fps in high quality at 1280x1024.

What do you mean? We already know the story of cryostasis it is in all big gameing websites and also in the game site

ZIGS says that he likes Cryostasis mainly for its story, because there are more shooters, like Doom. But Cryostasis is not a common FPS, you know, its story is quite original, no need to mention the ambience, the powers of Nesterov, etc.

Almost all of my games are in English. By a twist of fate, I know Russian. So that I do not mind to play the game in Russian and get it earlier. However, as far as I know, you can get the Russian version only in Russia. And the Russian on-line retailers cannot ship CDs abroad by law !

I'm very impressed. The atmosphere, the artistic design and technology of the graphics, is exceptional. The structure of the game is very original. Finally, a great FPS / Survival linear style from the CIS! . I played a little bit, I do not understand the Russian language, but it is one of the best beginnings of this style of a video game I've seen.! I could not stop playing!

The begining is awersome , and is more a survival game than a FPS .

I purchase game yesterday.
I had a Pentium E5200(3.32Ghz),2gb ram,GF8800GS 382Mb, SB Audigy2.
The game is realy hungry about videocard power.
On my PC I had only 10-25 fps on 1024x768 max settings with aa-off.

8800 gt is more powerful than 8800gs so it will run faster on mine pc right?

Is it playble with 15-25 fps???

I don't know about cpu.
Mine is enough.
Try to run game on XP and Vista (I had both) and it seems it more stable on XP with SM3 support.
Game is playable in most cases, but it had a few places were I had to lower my settings to play.

all games are more stable on xp. And in most games gpu is more important than cpu. I will never use vista because it sucks. Did you get 25 fps on xp or vista? Even if my cpu is not enough my gpu will be enough i think. It is Way more powerful than the 8800 gs.. Hope that my cpu will be enough because if not then i will be forced to overclock it and mayve burn it!:)

Cold fear and Lost Planet is a kindergarten level after Cryostasis. ^___^

I have played lost planet on my 360 and i didnt like it. I am pretty sure that cryostasis is much more better than it! But we must play it on max settings to enjoy it. If we forced to play it on lower settings, then we will not enjoy it. Have you tested on a more powerful computer to see how it runs? The only games that my computer disappointed me were crysis and crysis warhead. I was forced to set shadows to medium and physics at low to be able to run then at high settings... When i tested it on max settings... It was running very slow like a turtle! Hope this dosent happen to cryostasis because if it runs slow too then there is a possibility that i will break it if i become very angry!!

WHAT????? How is that possible??? You mean it has better graphics than crysis on max settings?? How many graphics settings does it has? Crysis had 4 settings low medium high and very high. How many settings does cryostasis has?? Can you run it at least on high settings?? I dont want to run it on medium or low setttings... In what settings are you playing Crysis??? And my pc has a better gpu than yours it has the same ram but it has a slower cpu... So if the game if more hangry for gpu than cpu then maybe it will run better on my pc than yours ... but if it is more hangry for cpu and not only gpu like crysis was... So i must be ready to break it!! Now i need to find a big hammer so i can destroy it more easy!(lol just kidding i will never destroy my pc). I plan to buy a new one this summer. But until then i have to wait.

I don't know how it can be compared to Crysis.
Game don't have lot big open levels with lot of plants on it.
The only open level I see it's the part of the first one.
But it had lot of graphics effects, very good light and shadows, and tons of shaders on any surface.

P.S.
I play Crysis with tweaked to very high settings with phisics on medium.

And what about me? How will it looks /work o n my pc. I have XP SP2 and my monitor dosent support any higher resolution than 1280x1024. Does it looks better on dx10 mode than dx 9? Are thsese shots from dx 9 mode?

Have you tested the game on a lower resolution like 1280x1024 or 1024x768? or you tested only 1600x1200? If no please test it so we can see if it is playble on lower resolution. I am sure it will run faster.

The game work quite fast on medium settings and still look good.

History is the main part of the game.
I reccomend you wait for english version.
And I really hope it will be translated good enough to be as good as it is on russian.

But I hope that not all spoken language is on english in the english version, I want the russian but with english subtitles. If you have english spoken language, much of the atmosphere disappears, or maybe if they make it like S.T.A.L.K.E.R., english with russian break.

As far as I see it is no problem to tweak the game to this.
But I don't think they can make it like it was in stalker. All text in game is attached to storyline.

Does it support SLI? I know it was developed with nvidia so it should support SLI

Oh man, I want to play this game so bad! The atmosphere reminds me of Penumbra and that game kicked ass too. I've seen somewhere the English version will be released December 31 2008, can anyone confirm this?

As far as I hear from developers, international publisher deside to put international version in february for some reason.
Also developers soon finish a patch with a new, faster rendering engine. :)
